Chapter 11 – Unknown Territory
It had been a long time since Trent had gone out on his own on a mission. All the time he had been spending with Juni had limited what he had loved most about space. Exploration. He cared for Juni, but this atmosphere, alone, in space, is where Trent felt real excitement.
His neural net log became his new best friend.
“Personal entry. It has been 8 hours since Juni and King left me. Where am I going? Where does this lead? What will I find when I get there? Do these strange goings on have anything to do with the alien ship?”
Trent took a closer look as to his location. His Nav Map read Omicron Gamma. The second to last waypoint was only 20k way. He waited anxiously for his deep space scanner to go off alerting him to something. When it went, the findings were unsurprising to Trent. It was a jump hole leading to what he believed to be uncharted space.
As he neared the jump hole, it sprung to life, a swirling vortex ready to suck Trent and his ship into unknown territory.
As his ship entered he tried to prepare himself mentally for what he would encounter on the other side. No amount of mental preparation could have enabled him to expect what he could see as his ship came to stop outside of the jump hole.
“My god…” he whispered to himself.
The system was unlike anything he had ever seen. A system filled with colours only the imagination could create. Blackholes, stars and even a planet inhabited the far reaches of this space. However not everything in the system was unknown to Trent. His scanner had alerted him to five Daggers on an intercept course and closing fast. Trent readied his weapons.
“Mr Trent, please stand down. We have no intention of harming you. We have been expecting you” came a voice from the lead ship.
“Who are you?” Trent replied.
“All will be explained. Please follow us.”
Trent followed the Daggers deep into their space. He couldn’t help but notice construction work on what looked like a station.
“We are almost there Mr Trent” came the voice once more.
As the six ships neared the planet, Trent noticed the docking ring.
“We are here. Please dock. You will be escorted to our Commander”
“Er, thanks” replied Trent.
Trent engaged docking procedure as his craft came slowly to halt on the landing pad on the planets surface. Sure enough, an armed escort was waiting for him.
“Thank you for coming Mr Trent. Our commander will be pleased to see you have made it here”
The two guards led Trent in to a small building. It was much like the bar on Kyoto.
Sitting in the corner of the bar was a man dressed in informal attire. His face was unclear which the poor light in the room caused. The guard signalled for Trent to take a seat with the man.
As Trent walked over, he got a clear view of the mans face. A rugged, old man was at the table.
“Please sit” said the old man.
Trent took a seat. He couldn’t help but notice the old mans accent.
“Thank you for coming Mr Trent”
“Yeah, great to be here if I knew where “here” was” replied Trent sarcastically.
“This is our adopted home Mr Trent. A home where we can prepare our forces without being troubled.”
“Ok. Three things. What forces? Prepare for what? Who the hell are you?”
The old man laughed.
“So many questions, so little time. I will answer your questions as best I can. The ships that intercepted you, and the ships you saw on the way to this planet are my ships.”
“Your ships?”
“Yes Mr Trent. We are what is left of the Zoners”
There was a look of surprise on Trent’s face.
The old man continued.
“We are preparing for an invasion. An invasion that makes the Nomad incursion look tiny in comparison.”
“You’ve lost me. Sirius is not at war. An invasion from whom?”
The old man ignored Trent’s newest question and continued explaining.
“We set up base here as our forces were being hunted down. We received word recently that the last Freeport was destroyed. The one which you escaped from”
The old man stopped as if he were finished.
“That’s great, really great. You can continue now” said Trent somewhat annoyed.
“There is nothing more to tell you right now” said the old man. “Get some rest. Tomorrow I will open your eyes to the world that has been hidden from us for so long. Tomorrow, you will get the answers you seek”
Enjoy

What i think i may end up doing here is moving both of my pieces and a final edit of SOS (an authors cut so to speak) to my own website. Once the bulk of it is completed, i will have the address in my sig so you all know where to go. Please, if you have enjoyed my writing, please tell you friends, i'm sure they will enjoy it too

Thanks for the compliment
I can't be arsed now to mess about with a site, i'm just going to bring this home. This is chapter 12. Most have probably seen it. I will just put the finalised version up there. I have started to piece together a SOS edit. No idea when my next chapter will be up as a friend of mine is not too well at the moment so i'm coming and going.
Chapter 12 - Disbelief
“There must be some kind of mistake here doctor. This just cannot be possible” said Orillion. The look of concern on his face was for all to see.
Dr Sinclair shook her head. “It’s true. I’ve run it through several times. It is definitely Russian”
Juni turned to look at Orillion.
“What does this mean? Do you think it has anything to do with the message we were
sent?” she whispered.
“I don’t know Juni” replied Orillion. “I think we need to get in contact with Trent urgently”
“What about our friend in the infirmary?” Said King. “He could hold the key to all of this”
“Go down there now King. Contact the Osiris, they will send some guards down for you. There maybe some angry people out there if this gets out.”
“Yes sir”
King left the bay and made his way to the infirmary.
“What are we going to do about this?” asked Juni.
“I don’t want the houses contacted until we know exactly why our Russian friend is here” replied Orillion. “The last thing we need is rumours and speculation”
“Shall we continue our work?” asked Sinclair.
“Yes. But we will do it on the Osiris. I will go and make the arrangements for all of this equipment to be transported there. Juni can you go and catch up with King and wait for the arrival of the guards from the Osiris. I want to keep as few people outside of the Order in on this. That includes the Dom Kavash”
Just as Orillion finished his sentence a Dom Kavash guard ran into the room.
“Mr Orillion, our scanners have picked up a large number of unauthorised ships in the system. We have scrambled craft to intercept”
“Thank you for letting me know” said Orillion. He turned to Juni. “Get up there, find out what the hell is going on”
“Yes Sir” replied Juni.
She ran out of the engineering bay straight to her Anubis.
She took the ship gently off of the platform and made her way out of the planets atmosphere in to space.
“Ms Zane, here to join us?” Came Omalia over the comms.
“Yes, I hear we have some guests”
“Indeed we do”
“How did they get past the Bretonian Forces?”
“They didn’t. They just appeared on the scanners here in this system”
“Well then I guess we should find out who they are the old fashioned way”
Juni and the 10 Dom Kavash ships with Omaelia started to head towards the unidentified ships.
“Omaelia, the ships have changed direction and are heading on an intercept course” said Juni over the comms.
“Lets see what they are up to then” she replied.
As they got closer, Juni opened up a channel to the ships. Juni’s scanner was picking up at least 25 of them.
“Unidentified ships, this is Colonel Zane of the Order, please state your intentions”
She received no response and repeated her message.
“Omaelia, I’m getting no response, they should be in visual range any… second…. now….wow”
Before her and the Dom Kavash were what looked like 20 very heavy fighters of unknown design and marking. The ships were decorated with bright yellow hulls.
“Leave us or be destroyed” came a voice over the communications channel.
“Who are you?” asked Juni.
“No time for pleasantries Ms Zane. All ships, open fire” shouted Omaelia.
“Wait!” said Juni.
It was too late. Omaelia and the rest of the Dom Kavash forces engaged the unidentified ships.
“Damn it Omaelia!”
The Dom Kavash forces flew in and out of the ships. Their far superior fire power gradually started to overwhelm the unidentified ships taking several out very quickly.
One of the ships engaged Juni.
“Oh no you don’t” she said to herself. She started her evading her enemy and eventually managed to flank the ship and open fire on it. She hit its rear engine, which slowed it down. For very heavy fighters, these ships appeared to be more manouvourable than any she had encountered.
Slowly, the attacking ships started to lose more but not before 5 of the Dom Kavash fighters were taken out.
With that, the unknown ships engaged their cloaking device and disappeared off of sensors.
As Juni stood down, she got over the comms to Omaelia.
“Why did you attack them!? They could have been here to seek our help!”
“I suggest you watch what you say Ms Zane. These ships were trespassing in our home and if you and your friends are not careful, you will be too”
Omaelia cut the communication channel and flew back to Sprague
