sycho's link is fixed, now, it seems.

Well, I don't think I was active enough in July to remember your idea, sycho, but I don't doubt that it was there. Doubtless, you can still join in.
Don't worry, only 61 chapters to read.
Actually, I wonder if you really need to have read the whole story? I guess a new char wouldn't need to "remember" the previous encounters because she wasn't there. All she'd really need would be to be filled in on the current situation, which is basically this:

Rheinland and Liberty have corrupted governments. By what means they have been corrupted, we haven't decided yet. (No one knows)
There are three main experimental weapons going around:
Fireblade is a very rare, but very destructive, weapon. It slags almost any matter it touches, but ineffective against shields. VERY high energy drain. Beam-like.
Stormblade is less rare than fireblade. It obliterates shields and energy systems, but no hull damage. Not as high an energy drain. Also beam-like.
Avarice is an ion cannon. It's more a rapid-fire chaingun style energy weapon. It disables shields and systems.
ALL pirate bases in Liberty and Rheinland have been reduced to molten rock and metal (fireblade), and many of the Independant Worlds, too. (Bering, Kepler, etc...)
Most survivors are on Malaga base, a Lane Hacker base in Sigma-19. I'm going to write in how they'll eventually try to move to Kyoto base, in Chugoku. They'll have to go through Honshu, too.

Er... I hope that covers what goes on in my end. Nickless/Jim/Knight could fill in with the flight of the junker battleship Arizona.

wait... if sw came here in July, then it was the time I went away to FW... adnt he story was going by that time... guess were all too lazy to check the post dates.

woah, I ahve to set my internal clock right, I can mistake by minutes, but by mmonths... damn I'm really rusty.
25/07/2003 is the starting date

6/4/2003 9:16:00 PM there thats when I started posting on the forums It was june not july Once again i got it worn ow well I' try to think of an interesting char and see if i have enough time to do this

Post Sun Apr 25, 2004 11:19 am

Basically, up to the Malaga base point the crew was kept together.
A few dudes went to Texas, LPI Sugarland to rescue the Prez (I know, I know) and a couple of "loyalists". People fighting against the Rh-Lib army are called loyalists, partially because rebels sound so cliché

Anyway, they set of to Texas, blow up 3 cruisers (with a fireblade strapped to one of the ships) and thereby saving the LPI prisoners. A BS comes closing in on them and when they check out who it is it appears to be the BS Arizona flown by Junkers. The Arizona was left for scrap by the loyalists early in the story, way before they were loyalists.
Two of the guys go to Manhattan to rescue/pick up one of the guy's wife. They meet O'Connor (Whitey's char) and escape from the planet. two get away and meet up with the Arizona and the other is now trapped on Mactan base.

That's about it so far.

And Wapcaplet is not Whasp Commander, I know that. Check the first few posts, he was Arigonni.

Edit: Whoops, totaly wrong here, it was Cpt.Savage. Never mind

doesnt this need locking?

My life just flashed before my eyes, and it was rather boring.

Post Mon Apr 26, 2004 8:13 am

The mods here have always been a little wierd to me... I mean it Off Topic! WTF could be worth* loking in Off Topic? certanly not threads that go Off Topic! Why? Because this is the only place the threads can go Off Topic, its meant to be Off Topic. I remeber once a mod locked a thread cuz some1 dug it up - why? WHY THE HELL DO YOU LOCK A THREAD IF OFF-TOPIC?!?!

(* politics and such are a good reason)

Ps. Where can I check when I become a memmer?
Pss. Don't you feel good ranting about things?
Psss. Too bad, I crtanly do

You click on the profile button at the top of your post, Whitey.

And Mods lock stuff because they go off topic. This must be so lest this forum because of a spam fest. And I like ranting, too.

And lest this go off topic and get locked, let us keep on the subject at hand.

Post Tue Apr 27, 2004 2:58 am

Just continue posting story parts and discuss them here and these threads wont get locked, I'm pretty certain about that.
I'll make something up soon guys

The rules of this forum apply here as well as others. If a thread turns into a spamfest where people are posting useless dribble..chance are it will be locked. There's chat programs if you want to cackle like a hen.

Also, posting your signature on every post in the SAME thread is a good way of coming under the watchful eye of moderators. How many times have you been to lazy to uncheck that block before you've posted in this thread???

If you're unhappy about the way things are handled here, you can feel free to email me or Gibby and voice your concern. We will listen to sound differing opinions. If you have problems understanding policy, same deal. But when you voice your opinion about your disagreement of how moderation works around here taking it to a public debate is not wise. Just another reasojn why threads get locked down. Breaking the rules regardless of intent is still...breaking the rules.

yayaya... just found the sig remove button checkbox thingy. Why didn't anybody tell me about it?

Anyways I totally discard Stingys post cuz I don't bother readin bigger posts than my own (and I wouldn't prolly understand it either)

Now can anyone tell me waht year is the thing happening? What year was the original FL going on?

Post Fri May 21, 2004 1:13 pm

Ermm...hey, guys.

Wow, I feel really stupid and sheepish about this. I'm sorry about not posting for a long time. I was away at college for the last couple of months and it started to really take up my free time. I was majored in engineering and I really had to struggle to keep afloat in my classes. So much that I stopped coming to TLR. And after I'd been gone for a while, I forgot about this place.

Now, I'm out for the summer and I've decided to attend the local community college to get some basic classes out of the way whilst I decide where I want to go now that I am not in engineering. I'd like to pick up Quigley as best I could if you guys are still interested in doing the story.

Well - can always hope some want to keep it up, and that spammers don't attempt to hijack it. If they do - will try to keep it clean for ya (*if you get others joining in).

Welcome back

p.s Your sig link isn't working - it gives a HTTP internal server error
