Back facing anguish

Ok, been playing about with an imported Titan model and created a freighter which i`m pretty happy with. This is from AutoCAD:

The problem, that i`ve had a few time is when importing from AutoCAD as a 3ds file. I could use a dxf but, that seemed worse if anything. All of the backs of the wings are facing the wrong way ang appear see through in the game.
I haven`t hardpointed everything yet, or even textured properly, i`m just working on the model first to see if i can get it fully visable and in the game.
This is from Hardcmp:

I know its a modified version of an existing model, i don`t really want to get in to that again. How do you tell the model program which part of the model is facing which way? I did use auto-threshold to join together any gaps from the original imported titan`s geometry. The bits that i`ve added are all ok.

You'll need to look at the model in MS3D. Basically, any areas that are black in MS3D when you're looking at the geometry are reversed. You'll probably have to find the reversed polygons, export back to Lightwave, and repair it there by exploding it and reversing the normals.

That sucks as that's a very decent model. Doing it by hand as Argh has stated, is the only way to fix it. There is no automated "fix model" button.

to fix it in ms3d use the selection editor, select some invisible faces, then go to Vertex >reverse vertices.True, you'll have to grab a lot of them but its better than going back to lightwave right?
(tip:hold shift before holding left click to add faces, hold ctrl to toggle faces selected/deselected)
