Hi!

Really great work AluminiumHaste! The model looks awesome and FL needs some new custom freighters (Most modelers are still working on fighters or capships).

Keep going on with this!

One question: Will you make a mod with this ship and make it available on TLR? Would be cool!

POLICE version:

Police

Took quite a bit of finagling to get this one to show the correct texture. FL kept using the CIVILIAN's texture for some reason.

Very cool it would look pretty sweet if it had something close to blast marks or scratchs on the hull , it would give it a feel like it knows how to do buisness and can take the beating.

A 8 man team cant defeat a science research center filled with who knows what that have already killed 500 people....

If your biggest gun doesnt work first then drop it and run like heck.....

To see some of my other modeling work, check out Argh's XML toolkit mod. He's included a model that I did (he did the texture for it), he called it the "treefrog", because he glowmapped the wings. I really looks sweet.

excellent work AluminumHaste - don't forget to add your running light's points & make them part of the two different loadouts - normal lights(or whatever looks best on yellow) & police lights

Oh, they've got all their hardpoints alright, don't worry about that!!

You just can't see them in that pic.

Okay can someone tell me why this is happening?? I haven't made the infocards yet, so bear with me hear for a sec; The first image is supposed to be the Civilian version which showing correctly.

Image 1

This second pic is of the Police version selected. But for some reason the same texture is applied to both ships.

Here is an overview image:

All the ini files are different, the correct texture is in each cmp. They have different names. The only to make the police one show up is to completely remove the civilian one from the game.

It is important that the material names are different for EACH version or else they will both show the same textures (ie whichever is loaded first).

Okay, changed the material names in the cmp, as they were the same, now neither of them show up in the game lol.

Post Tue May 17, 2005 8:04 am

Have you also changed the material_library = entries to the new texture files etc.?

Post Tue May 17, 2005 9:28 am

Well, yeah. Otherwise FL would probably crash, it's so sensitive to this stuff.

the material names are coded into vmeshdata*i think* so you need to export with the correct(unique!) material names.eg you have to export two models, each with its own materials uniquely named _before_ export, then your unique mats will read the textures as being different.there is a tool called flmodelclone or something that will rename them correctly in the vmeshdata,it's designed for cloneing stock ships but will work for any model of course.
