Saving as *.DDS

I've just received Adobe Photoshop CS. I used to work at a business using a much earlier version.

I'm following the "Kasdian Overhaul Guide" to help me re-skin the ships in FL. My problem is that his instructions--especially concerning saving original *.DDS files, was written for Photoshop 7.0. WHat I'm seeing isn't the same, & i don't know enough to know how to "translate" into my version.

Does anyone work with Photoshop CS that's skinning that can help me out, please?

The Kasdias guide, while useful, includes an outdated .dds plugin. The newer plugins generate the mips maps for you automatically.

You can find the latest plugins (and other useful .dds tools) at the
NVIDIA Texture Tools web site.

You don't really need the mipmaps anyways. Just use DXT1 without mipmaps. You save half the storage space doing it that way.
