nice design reminds me i wanted to texture a ship w a tiger skin

speakin of wildies

i noticed that black eagle, rimshot and couple of other guys really love the spacemonkeys back on primus

so i thought its time for them to have their own ship

wot do u think?

space monkeys mpc (transport and combat multiprurpose craft)

note that model is not finished nor textured yet... work in progress

btw if u got any good banana textures to share... lemme kno... lmao

Hey korben, this banana ships is just what I need.

As you might know, I'm so interested in the Monkeys, because I'm the leader of the Monkey Universe Modding Team.
Monkey Universe is totally dedicated to the Monkeys and the most holy Monkey god

However, we have one RP event called "Find the banana", where the players have to chase the mysterious "banana". For this event it would be awesome to have a ship with the shape of a banana.
So this model you made would be perfect for this. If you can do this we would be so grateful, if we can use this in the mod (of course with full credits).

So, keep going and great design

Black Eagle

ROFL, well i just have to reply to this. As co-creator of the Galactica Hellgate mod, one of the things we sorted out as well was the whole monkey situation on Primus, including custom commodities for them to trade including bananas and their own special brew, banana beer. The one thing we struggled with was to give them a trade ship, well i wish i'd seen this design before. This Banana trade ship is magnificent, a true work of art and i commend you Korben for creating it, well done fella

I'm looking for a name for this ship and some texture ideas. I was thinking of some dusty aicraft aluminum but I'm not so sure that would look right on this one. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For a civilian version, I think that it'd look good in a pale green- like a lime color, with some gently-applied dirt, scratches, etc to keep it from looking too neat and tidy. It basically looks like a fun little sports-car, with waaaay too much engine for too little body, so it should feel sporty. Me being me, I'd probably end up putting racing stripes on it

As a military craft, on the other hand, it could look really nice with an over-under job- dark color on top, lighter on the bottom. Which might be a pain- grouping this is going to be tricky. I'd suggest a deep navy blue, with proper detailing to make it not feel totally flat. To emphasize its functional nature, if a military craft, I'd suggest some detailing on the sides of the engines to give them that "WWII fighter" sort've feel- some small vents with oil smears trailing down the engine cowling would really make it look like a serious piece of work. People always liked the Patriot, I think, because although it's a kind've silly design in some respects (the "feathers" are pretty un-functional-looking) it has an overall feel that suggests that its performance will be nice and sporty- which fits its in-game role really well. I think DA did a very good job of taking that design and making it feel believeable in its specific role.

@ Argh

I like the over and under idea. I think I'll try it.
Maybe I'll make a civilian model with the stripes too. Sounds pretty cool.

Thanks.

Some time later........................

Here it is with the skin started. Great idea to do the two-tone over and under with blue. The idea actually helped me come up with the name. The "Navy Interceptor".
It will be a good little ship for house military scouts and light fighters.

It's still a work in progress. but well under way.

Thanks again Argh for the groovy skin idea.

i've been working on this on for about two hours it is in the process of being skinned but nothing is rock solid not even the design i just thought i'd show it before i hit delete link
as far as the distortion towards the back of the engines i have no clue what caused it, it apeared when i welded the model.

@daftbadger

Thanks man. I stayed up all night working on it.
Hey I like your ship design. It looks pretty good for the poly count. If you need a hand texturing it let me know. Looks like it would be pretty easy to do the way the faces are layed out.

Also here is a little something I have been working on. It's not a ship. It's the billboard in the background.

The hologram is both see through and penatrable. That's right you can fly through the hologram!!!
I figured it would be cool to have such things in the gabe. I also plan to make information bouys. You could place them anywhere and they would give veluable information about whatever. You could also use them as markers to show the way to secret locations. Imagine buying a rumor in a bar that told you where the first one was then it pointed you to the second one and so on until you found the secret stuff. It could be kinda like a quest.
Anyway here is the Billboard.
