weird ship visual behavior

weird ship visual behavior

I have converted ship from other game to freelancer, almost all i fine.
The problem is when I land on planet i dont see mesh of the ship(it disapperars at longer distance)
1. I have read most of the topics related aperance problem
2. lodrange is set to 0, 2000 ( i have tried higher values, no luck)
3. I have used fltool (resolved edge of screen disapperance)
4. In space ship behaves exeptionally
5. sur file taken from li_fighter ( this ship is scaled to fighter size, it is higaran interceptor)
6. mount is set at the bottom of the ship (1 unit in hardcmp under mesh)
7. tried tga and dds textures ( same effect)

Can anyone help?

I have partially resolved my problem )

I seems that swapping origininal ships whith new custom flayers is not idea
When i created custom folder for my ship problem disappered
hmm.. is it mean that aside from shiparch lods are defined also somewere else?
this is so weird .....

ok, so i think whats happening is that your using .tga instead of .dds

Laine,

Lod distances are defined in the shiparch.ini and for custom ships is normally set to 0, 9999..(etc....) Some people set them higher but you cant see a great deal past 10 k so I dont think high numbers do a great deal other than use resources.. once your ship appears you can adjust them provided you have used FLModelTool by Anton to allow it...

ok but resolving this I havent changed almost anything
I think the problem was that I swapped liberty patriot with my model.
Ship doesnt showed only at longer distances on planets, in space i could see from long distances( in shiparch i have modified original li_fighter so there was many of them in NY).
When my ship was in /ship/liberty/li_fighter/li_fighter.cmp(mat) it disappered in bases, but when i created /ships/h_liberty/h_li_fighter/h_li_fighter.cmd(mat)
and changed entry for li_fighter in shiparch problem just gone
anyway it is working now and am happy allright
