Texture Database

Does anyone know where I could find some good generic textures? I've got a really nice model, but I'll be darned if I can texture it myself and I can't find some good metal plating type images anywhere.

There is a download containing Fl's original textures in tga format on TLR here. YOu can also extract existing textures from mat and 3db files using the utf editor.

ya I remember way back then when I went through every mat and 3db extracting textures from them, then converting them to tga to make a pack of them... that was tedious

for fl textures converted to tga: http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/downloa ... asp?id=995

for fl textures in original .dds : http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/downloa ... asp?id=994

But if you don't want to use fl original textures and just want generic metal... type it in a google search or look up a metal texture tut... tons of both. Lots of metal texture tuts out inregards to gun making, but still same photo editing skills. And lots of pictures of metal which you can use to make plates; not gonna bother trying to find links for those cause there are just too many out there to choose from...

Hey guys,

I remember a thread a long time ago about the possibility of someone setting up a site specifically for ship modeling with a texture database, ect.

I spent about a month setting this thing up, it's still very newish, but if anyone wants to have a look and/or participate, I've got Baked Potatoes permission to advertise it.

Just go to The Freelancer Ship Modelers Site and see if this is something you guys would like to be involved in.
