Dev''s new .sur resizer

a big new thing that many big modmakers will love, is a tiny bit bugged right now.

it was compiled by a Unix-related compiler, and will thus ask for cygwin1.dll, which.. .aint on my computer, or on most of your computers anyway. so, either one: wait for Dev to come home, and fix it, or fix it yourself:

He included the source code. Uber.
Open it, using whatever compiler, then recompile it, and run it off commandprompt. there. A fixed version wil be resubmitted later.

You can download that dll file here and copy it into the same directory as the exe.

Umm.. I have a question...

How much can a sur file be resized?, can it be stretched say to cover a larger object?

Yes, it seems to work beautifully. I resized the dagger to 20 times its original to go with a stardestroyer model (great triangular shape =) and it works flawlessly. I do have some problems with changing all the components to be root, but I just don't do it and it works fine. Some ships are better for sur resizing than others. The dagger seems to work great. The bretonia freighter is also a very very good one for those roundish models (you can stretch it to be round or oval shaped, flatten it, flip it on it's side, whatever). Basically those ships with fewer components work the best, because you get more predictable results.

I'll have to try it out when I get home: a Star Destroyer .sur file is exactly what I need

I have a question: how the hell do you use it? I've put the .dll into my EXE folder, but when I open the Resize application, a black box appears for half a second then goes.

Zack Lyons ,

The .dlls go into the same folder as the resizer... think it may well work then

#Zack Lyons

Havent got the slightest idea...lol

if you have XP goto start and then RUN then type cmd and click ok:
Then find you way though *ugly* dos and start the .exe

other wise you need to goto start, programs, accessories, MS_Prompt. then follow then. Find you way to the .exe(using *ugly* dos)

i havent used it my self

I create a shortcut for it in the same folder, with the commands line options of course. Put the source cmp in the folder. All I have to do is enter the desired values in the eaccording command line parameters, save the shortcut and run it. Works great for me.
