A Call for Heroes (Help! - Relates to Ragnarok)

Basiclly it's a lack of means. I've practiclly finished the Ragnarok, I've tweaked it's stats, balanced it's weapons, set up all it's turrets and trajectories, everything is ready except for one final detail

The primary turret mount on it's underside, the model is done, it's textured and it works. However weapon mounts REQUIRE .DDS textures from what i understand, and DDS textures require Adobe Photoshop, since the only plugins to my knowledge exist for that package.

Unfortunatly I don't have Adobe Photoshop... no I'm not asking anyone to illegally mail it to me, rather HERE you'll find the gun's texture in .bmp format.

(Copy and paste the URL)

If some kind soul could convert that into .DDS format for me you'd have my eternal gratitude/gratitude of everyone else here/credit in the model credits. Basiclly this one texture is the only thing stopping the Ragnarok being uploaded and made available for everyone to mess with to their hearts content.

I recommend you make two DDS files, one normal, and one flipped vertically. The Milkshape exporter tends to flip the texture co-ordinates vertically so skins usually have to be flipped over before export. So do it the right way up AND flipped just to be on the safe side.

For more information on the Ragnarok check here

if file type is the only problem then you should get your hands on "directshow" .. it ain`t good for editing pictures but it includes .dds format ..

just copy and paste your pic into directshow and save as .dds

EDIT:
it`s called DDS-Show .. here`s the link

hi ..
most simple ...
NVidia give one package with the pluggin for Photoshop 5, 6 , and 7, Paintshop , Painter, etc ... and many are in free months use ..
load your BMP and save directly as DDS ...

best regards

normally you have receive my package of DDS files...

Ryuujin,

I will do it for you no problem .. cant see why its so hard ...I have the bmp, how do you want it, with or without mipmaps.

I note that it is 256 x 64 and normally dds are square, dunno how it well it will work.

or you could use paint shop which works just as well as photoshop

I already got sent a converted copy. But I couldn't the turret to work right anyway, since it's such a narrow firing area anyway I just opted to have a static turret model on the main ship, and had an invisible turret at the tip of the muzzle.

Skystalker: If I had a paint program that could do DDS files I wouldn't be asking...

Thanks for all the help though.
