Can anyone direct me to the plugin for Photoshop 7 that will allow me to modify existing textures, thanks a lot.
Thanks but im having trouble actually getting the dds plugin from the nvidia site i searched for it and im now looking at nvidia texture tools which includes a dds plugin for photoshop BUT whenever i click on it it asks me for my email and password that should be reigstered and i cant find somewhere to register! Has anyone got it already that could possibly send me it? please...
In case you have trouble finding Kasdias Texture Guide click here.
took 1.15 seconds for me to type "Nvidia dds" into a google search, first link on top brings you to the page to download the dds plugin for photoshop and a number of other programs =p always try using google first, lol, it knows everything

Some other things:
1. Did you copy the dlls to their place? They come with the plugin.
2. The plugin works with ENGLISH as language in photoshop.
3. Be careful when exporting especially when prompted to create number of mipmaps or update the existing ones. (I usually do the second one)
Anyway I am not really happy with the dds textures in freelancer since bigger ships look ugly when you do not take your time to thinker with the lodranges.
Ciao.

well dds are perfectly fine for me, and I still prefer them over targa's in regards to how much space you save, you just need to set their values right when saving cause there are quite a few options. The main things to remember is that you need mips mapping, but you can still then chose to only have 1 mips map, this will prevent having multiple smaller lod mip maps made. So for larger ships where the camera view is further away it will still use the original resolution picture and not a lower one. Also just having 1 mips map makes the file size of the mat smaller anyways. So much better then targa's.
