Warzog, your problems sound hardware related. I'd suggest your motherboard...

Post Sun Feb 06, 2005 11:50 am

Is the a listing of which planet and bases that correspond to their GS# ????

Post Tue Feb 08, 2005 11:49 am

texican1948.... If you run DL Datastorm on the modded Freelancer, tou can get the system and base info from that.

warzog...I give up on MP. Using FLSO, I've moved clean ships to several different systems, bought new ships, tried to jump out , Server Crash. Occasionally it happens before I get to a jump hole.

HELP!!!!

The Crossbow is only for sale on the Perry Naval Station.

lvxoccvlta:
I agree, but I can't afford to do anything about it right now.

Shaman:
Sorry.
Never been into MP much, so I never got to deeply into that part of the mod.

Warzog

Many thanks. Greatly enjoy the mod.

Post Wed Feb 09, 2005 7:33 am

You're welcome.
BTW-the numbers to the left are the hash codes that'll show up in FLspew.txt

Edit:
Also...
The "TCS" bases, Symbra, and bases that have numbers matching their system's GS number, weren't in the original Privateer game.
But they were inspired, and for the most part, and located, by the original game.
In Privateer, the NAV maps had a lot of "missing" waypoints.
That is, the map didn't show one, but there was one there.
Well, I placed bases in those locations.

Ok in the process of trying to get a proper balance to the commodities sold at different planets, statons, refineries and military warships these are the bugs i have found so far:

1)Lava planet has the infocard for Friggia for some reason (Lava looks like a semi-molten planetoid)

2)ND-57 the ships for sale has a Talon as both a light fighter @ 60,000 and as a medium fighter @ 60,000

3)Nitir System all the infocards seem to be corrupted showing the coding along with the description of planets, sun etc

4)Apon trying to return to the Nitir wormhole after visiting Lisacc Mine station an CTD occurred while merchant ships were crashing and blowing up due to mines going off in the astroid field.

5) a CTD occurs regularly when landing on Rodin in Varnus System and trying to go into commodities, bar, ship dealer etc (can land on planet)

6) definitely need to rebalance commodities bought and sold....not consistant with type of site, and what would normally be needed, and what they would be selling

Hope this helps a bit

Tingerhoff system very unstable.....CTD's occurring on route from Munchen to TCS
Tingerhoff Any missions taken can result in a CTD at any time, even when mission completed and just tractoring in salvage

Aaaarrrgggh!
All of those are due to the corrupt files I've mentioned, before.
The "Mines going off in the asteroid fields" is a great example.
(There are NO MINES anywhere in the Gemini Sector!)

Someone...
ANYONE!?!!
Needs to go through the mod, and uncorrupt/repair EVERY file.
I've tried, and tried, but as soon as I repaired one, a dozen more become corrupt!
(Which, BTW, is why I gave up!)
My computer simply LOVES corrupting INI files.

The method I used, that gave temporary results on my computer, was:
1) Open the ini file.
2) Copy the contents of the ini file.
3) Close the original ini document.
4) Open a new document in Notepad.
5) Paste the contents of the ini into this new document.
6) Save it as the original ini file.

As to the DLL's...
I have no idea how to repair them.
The Gemini.dll in the previous version was so corrupt that it actually rewrote itself the more you played the game.
(And it induced errors/CTD's everytime it deleted things.)

As my computer is useless to repair the files, I can't help.
I am truely sorry.
All I can do is help as I am, here.
Hopefully, someone will be able to repair the files, and make a workable mod.

Good Luck!

MY APOLOGIES.......Turns out I had several corrupted Windows files that I was able to repair with Norton Systemworks. Please disregard my previous post for problems.

I will have to go back through the various "Saves" for each planet and see if the errors are still occurring. They may not be there since checking the Nitir system, I have found the infocards have no problem as to displaying coding along with the planet, sun etc.

Quixotal

1) Lava in Raxis system is still displaying infocard information for Frigia
2) Ships for sale from ND-57 Militia Base still selling Talon as light fighter and medium fighter for 60,000 credits
3) Rodin in Varnus system still CTD's when trying to access bar, commodities, ship dealer from landing pad area

4) Have gone to Lisacc System and found that there are still "mines" in amongst the asteroids and they go off when you get too near...did not go to Lisacc Refinery to see if I could replicate the CTD that occurred on return to BP-Tango wormhole tho...since the"mines" are not supposed to be there I figured that was part of cause for CTD

5) Tingerhoff system is still very unstable.....I guess the windows corrupted files only effected the reading of the infocards 8/

Quixotical, hold off for a bit. I've put together a (relatively) stable build of the mod using FLMM .XML files, and rewritten quite a bit of the DLLs, while doing some ship and rebalance work. I'll upload them soon - don't want to run into the same coordination problems that plagued the mod early last year. If you can meet me on IM or IRC, that'd be great. I'm usually on #wingnut on irc.wcnews.com, or AIM at MrMcdob, MSN at [email protected], or yahoo at [email protected] .

Saves also save the errors, so they're all useless.
They also add up the errors, and create more, for some reason.
I've had saves that created different CTD's every time you loaded them.

Bob!
Glad to see you're still working on the mod.
