Editing stations

Hi there,
I have some problems with the Bluepoint station I make.
The first thing I'ld like to know is if the whole model has to be one "group" in MS3D. Cause currently there are hundreds of groups in this file, each representing one part of the station.

Anyway, I added some hardpoints ( must there be certain hardpoints in the file for the station to be visible in FL ? ) and exported a .mat and .cmp file.
Now I created a new mod folder in the FLMM and put the bluepoint.mat in the DATA/SOLAR folder and the bluepoint.cmp in the DATA/SOLAR/DOCKABLE folder.
Next I copied the SolarArch.ini into the SOLAR folder and changed the following lines for "nickname = largestation1":

DA_archetype = solar\dockable\bluepoint.cmp
material_library = solar\bluepoint.mat

And I deleted all docking_sphere lines but the ones for which I added hardpoints:

docking_sphere = berth, HpDockMountA, 5.000000
docking_sphere = berth, HpDockMountB, 5.000000

At last, I renamed the "station_small_b_lod.sur" to "bluepoint.sur"

But when I tried it in FL the station was invisible in I ended up on my desktop when I tried to approach it.

if not then that would cause it

no, I just renamed a already excisting sur file. Is it possible to make your own sur file ?

First point:
Each sub-group can be attached to the main base, or other sub-groups.
They don't need to be saved as one entire unit.
However, the more that there are, the harder it becomes to assemble it correctly.
An order of assembly, if you will, would be required.
Barring that, distances between components would needed.

Second Point:
As far as I know, there's no known way to make your own SUR files, yet.

Watch your 6!
