Freelancer not very free

I've been trying to get into multiplayer, but from servers randomly wiping the player base, to other issues, it is not very entertaining. The thing i hate most is why do you start friends with liberty and enemies with pirates? That isn't very free. Its a bitch to get your reputation with pirates high enough to actually start doing missions for them. Even worse spending 80k plus to have your reputation hacked by people in bars. They should have had an option to choose a faction and start at that factions base to begin with, instead of the way it is now.

In singleplayer you basically have to start friendly towards the police, since that's the basis of the story. As for multiplayer, I believe you always start neutral to all factions

In multiplayer you start friendly with liberty and hostile to pirates

A server can change those numbers. You can be neutral with everybody, but the concensus is that it's WAY too easy to do stuff that way.

hey, uh, i think you can start out as a pirate with the mod. check out the mod page here, there should be one. i dont have my game yet and the company i ordered from sucks, so im still waiting

oh well, its worth the wait

yeah, about the random MP server wipes ive been encoutnering, does anyone else get them? ive tried like 8 diff servers, and ill play one day, maybe up to lev 12-13, hen the next day, same server, is either gone (with another one replaced, saying ive been, and I havent, cus i tried keeping a list on paper) with a char w/ same name as b4 but 2k credits and a starflier, or just no char at all!!! i stopped playing mp cept for direct connect with my friends, cus i dont trust the servers... and today i think tlr gold was down, so even the private servers may experience errors... anyone have ideas?

Did somebody say my name?

Maybe it's just me, but I easily make friends with the criminals. And it's always in this order:
Blood Dragons
Outcasts
Corsairs
The Rest

I spend much time in Kusari hitting convoys, then I graduate to the border worlds.
Of course, I happen to enjoy blowing up big stuff (I go for the biggest ship every time)
Just put in some time and effort and you'll get it.

Oh, and by the way, you'll wanna start with convoys, start hitting the cops, then go for Bounty Hunters in Omicron Gamma.

DO NOT ALIENATE LIBERTY AND RHEINLAND
...you'll see why.
