5 HOURS!!!!!! Geeez, do I feel stupid!!!!

This is a warning to any of you folks trying to balance factions. After 5 hard hours of micromanagement in killing tons of Xenos and Mollys to get both Corsairs and Red Hessians to neutral state it all ended up in disgrace.

The Hessians and Corsairs are both neutral to me on paper but they still attack me, I have two red factions in all only and none of them are allies with or have friends of importance. What a freaking waste of time. I cant kill anything at the moment without turning something into red so experimenting is not an option and any mistakes could cost dearly and be timeconsuming.

The only reason I used so much time doing this was to explore around without getting attacked every freaking second ..man I am mad, and in the end I am the one I should be most mad at because I actually got myself to waste time on this faction thing.

PS: Since I am not english native please pardon my errors.

I have all factions neutral or friendly and the entire universe explored, if you want the save game let me know. It is possible to get them all neutral or friendly but there is a bug where if they are right on the line between hostile and neutral they will still be hostile. You have to take them down a bit further. Let me know if you want the save game, it's a great thing to branch off of and chose how you want your factions exactly to your liking. I think I've become an expert now on faction manipulation hehe, I can twist any of them at will however I wish

Don't bother with that while you are playing through the campaign, I hear that all the reputation settings reset to default after you finish the plot line.

If you plan on playing the game after the story ends, you can start with a fresh new reputation and choose the path of your choice with no influence from the past.

The good thing is, after you play the story line, you can get a feel for what type of factions you would like to be aligned with, and create your own destiny without a plot line to get in the way.

Actually, I think it may have to do with what you are labeled as.

Example:

Iam labeled as a "Rogue" in the game and i have the Hessians and Outcasts liking me most. But if i enter into a House system, then they will immediately turn red, simply because, to them, Iam a pirate.

Could this be the case? Maybe you are "Navy" and even if you have, lets say, pirate factions neutral, they will still attack you because you are "Navy".

My guess is that he barely took them neutral, there is that hairline that separates neutral from hostile and while it may show up as a white-colored name on your faction screen they are still hostile unless you take the bar down a little more. I had Xenos showing like that as white and neutral but they were still hostile until I killed a few more outcasts and then they were neutral in actual gameplay, not just showing that they were.

Well, I made a choice ... the Hessians started to piss me off and I blew them away out of anger, theoutcasts left me alone after this and I paid them a visit in Malta to buy a certain ship ...guess having a few enemies makes things more exciting.
