AI attack prioroties, not as simple as you may think

Ok, we are all used to watching swarms of xenos break off their attack on navy defenders and focus their fire on you, and many people are lead to believe that it is simply because you aren't another AI player.

My Argument:

Story #1

Start a new game, spend the 2k on outfitting your ship and take off. Take the trade lane to Fort Bush, and then get on the lane to DSE Pittsburgh, but get off halfway through. Start attacking keep the lanes disabled and attacking the traders that come through. Eventually the liberty rouges will show up and join the fight. The first couple of times they will all chase you down, but if you keep this up and never fire back, you will eventually notice they arrive on the scene and half of the rogues attack you, and half attack the traders. Once all the traders die the rogues turn on you.

Once, right before I went nuetral with the rogues, I was dodging some rogue fire from about 4 of them about to make my getaway when 3 bounty hunters show up. Immediately 3 of the liberty rogues break off and fly straight past me to engage the bounty hunters, with only one left to annoy me...

Story #2

3 human players link up and decide to take on the West Point Military Academy (not the base, but everything around it). The team consists of myself in the default Starflier, another player in a Bloodhound and the third dude in god-knows-what-but-it-looked-impressive.

During the fight it always seemed like I had a massive force after me, and later my buddies confirmed that most of our enemies were hunting me down and they were simply following the mob picking them off for much of the fighting. Now this may have been because I had the worst reputation with them when we attacked, but I was still green with most of them when they started firing on the other guys. Personally I think it was because I had the weakest ship and seemed to present the easiest target (thought apparently I scored more kills than the bloodhound).

Any other comments? If any of you experience similar stuff when playing please do share so I wont think I'm going crazy and imagining things...

interesting!!!! this is both in MP right.....well I guess I'll fire up a new character and try some experiments myself......but as of now they always seem to attack me no matter what.....maybe i'm just not paying close enough attention though.....be back after I check it out more.....

Interesting. Instead of the AI following the rule "AI always attacks you" it's actually "AI always attacks *you*" ("You" meaning "Revenge"

I think the ROE for the AI is also tweaked out for single player missions. For instance, sometimes they go after the "unimportant" escorts or cruisers first, and other times, they basically go after you first.
