Ship Speed Stats (Whats gives)

As a previous owner of Starlancer. I always liked the fact that the different Ships for sale all had different abilitys in terms of how fast they could go according to there price. So why did'nt they carry this feature over into this game also. To now find that all the ships have the same speed regardless of there price sucks big time. I mean it's not as though this feature was'nt already there in the game anyway in there previous sequel: Starlancer!

I have now also notice that they are not supporting the playing of this game on MSN GAME ZONE like they did with Starlancer. Which made it very easy to join games, and get into it! I haven't even seen the option to be able to play this game via IP Address like you could with Starlancer also. Which for me was a must option in the MultiPlayer.

MMMmmmm! What were Microsoft thinking at all.

Use the fldirectip.hta file in your Exe folder to do a direct connect to an IP. Or use the -s command switch.

And, just for the record, those whom do not pay for the game have no right to complain about it.

I would have thought this game would have been more than just one disk. I had STARLANCER here that I bought from the shops. And that was a Two Disk game. I could be wrong!

I've managed to download the Cue and the NFO file. But I'm seeing "0" sources on the Bin files. And that connected to SILENT BOB server also.

=========================================

Does this game require Dirext X 9.0 to play! And am I right in saying it is Mouse controled only, and no Joystick is used!

PS: What Server are most of you guys on here who's trying to download it?

=========================================

Just a couple of questions people!

1. For those people who have already downloaded this game, installed it, and played it. What do you think about the new Mouse control method being used, instead of Joystick method that was used in Startlancer. Personally I thought Joystick method of control in Starlancer worked very well, and I've never been a fan of the new Mouse control being used in this game. How does it compare?

2. How would you compare the graphics to there previous version called Starlancer?

3. I much perfare the game called X-Tension by Egosoft over there previous Starlancer game. Simply because there was much more to the game in terms of the extra features, game options, Lastabilty, and more! Seeing as they also have there new game called X2 The Threat in the pipework due for release in March. How do you rate this game overall! Because it's going to have to be very good game indeed with tons of features, and unlimited lastabilty if it hopes to compete with X2 The Threat . Which by the way is Joystick controled, and not Mouse driven.

PS:
Please keep them FULL SOURCES shared! There are only a very few Full Sources being showed in 600 Sources here in my list!

It's a real pity about the Sound problems, Did this happened during the ripping process? Or is it a fault on the original disk itself? So does this mean we all have to edit our Windows Sounds settings now to be able to hear all the In-Game speech sounds. And will altering the Windows Registry effect windows in other ways! Because I do not want to do this just to play one game. If it's going to cause problems with Windows in the long run. Even though I want this game! More information on this sound problem would be more than welcome!

============================================

NO,NO,NO THIS CANNOT BE!!!

I have downloaded 235mb so far! But I have just checked the FILE DETAILS. And I have lossed 180mb due to Corruption. And gained 185mb due to Comression. Leaving me with about 225mb completed. Whats going on here! How the hell can I gain 185mb due to Compression when I've only downloaded 235mb. What the hell was it compressed with? A speeding train! Because I want that program like yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I strongly suggest you all do the same check!

At least we know all your "hard work" finally seems to have paid off.

Wow, caught red handed.

Just for the record: people who seem to visit warez forums and thus finding postings like this shouldn't complain about people not paying for games.

p.s.: since when do you buy ships in Starlancer?

And btw, Starlancer ships are not for sale. You gain access to them as you are a pilot for a military service.

I wouldn't say "caught".
Since it seems pretty obvious few people care if they are known to use "warez", and he didn't exactly even try to hide anything.

It was more like...

"Wow, cross-referenced red-handed."

LMAO!
Good one!

I got the link for that thread from THIS forum about a week before the game was released.
And just made a quick list of some names to keep a look-out for on any server I happen to host.
It is a loose rule I beleive that people that will use "warez" will also usually cheat at the games they get so "easily".
And therefore, I try to keep them off my servers.

Just a bit shocking that some people don't even bother to change their names when they break the law...is that some arrogance or what?

Ok, i'll let you get away with it... this time.

Well "DREAD" its seems you also go to ShareReactor. I wonder why! I don't supose you also use eMule also do you :}

Who said I downloaded the game. Thats a crime. And I don't do things like that.

And I bought Starlancer here from the shop years ago.

I'm just messin' with ya man.
I just noticed the names matched and it made me laugh my ass off.
I have never seen anyone from a "warez" group use the same name for the forums of the games they downloaded.
It's hysterical to me.
You got a yard of d*** and a bucket of b***s man!

I really don't care one way or the other about "warez" actually.
Guess I figure when publishers care enough about it happening to actually use a way of REALLY preventing them, then I will care.

Post Thu Mar 13, 2003 4:57 am

I know your only kidding.

But hey were in a Forum were Warez is not allowed so I better shutup before I get my ass banned!

PS: By the way I have never had the Speech problem in the game here with only Media Player 6.4 installed on Windows 2000 Pro by default, and the game runs perfect! I used to have "XP Pro" installed along with all it's crap. But I now won't even upgrade to the higher Media Player 9 version. I blame that and the 8 version for most of the in-game sound problems people are having due to the extra Codecs it installs!

You said above about the Publishers not caring! They did on this game. Because they flooded the Servers with Corrupt Download Parts of the game. Thats why all the people had so many problems trying to download it! But "MS" failed because they were all filtered out after a couple of days!

But again I did not download the game. I was just asking questions only about the game before I bought it.

PS: Yes as pointed out above. I made a mistake about buying Ships in the Starlancer game. But hey I was feeding my 6 Kids at the same time when I typed that message. So please make allowences for this!

Ok, first of all what is emule.....I've heard of some warez sites but your naming stuff I ain't never heard of.....so does that mean you use them.......

another thing, if I buy a game from the store and my friend borrow's my disc and install it on his computer because maybe he can't afford to by one of his own but really wants to play....how is that any different from downloading it off the web for free....this piracy with games, seems to be going down the same road as music, you can't stop it ever....so why waste the time and money trying to....if the person is not selling it and making money from it, why should microsoft or anyone else care.....now you might say that letting other people have free copys of your game will take away from the sales of the game for the company.....but that's only assuming that everyone who gets a copy for free could have afforded to pay for the game.....otherwise, the company would not have got a sale from these people anyway.......people can do what they want with the copy that they buy right.......it's now theirs after all....I don't understand this fully.....but one thing I know, I can't afford to by every game that comes out that I would like to play, because then my family would look at me as if I had a problem and my son would probably starve.....now I'm not condoning warez sites or anything of the sort......but I do understand......it's like this....ask yourself how many times you've copied a game, music cd, video or any media from a friend or even from blockbuster before........to me that's the same as downloading from the web......now if you can afford the game, but just wanna be cheap and not pay.....then there's the problem.....but yet again....how do you determine who can and who can't afford a game.....so now everybody is a crook because they somehow got a game they didn't pay for, even if somebody else did.......believe me, I will support the makers of these games by buying them but i'm just laying it out there for both sides of the spectrum.......hell, I use to get my check and spend 60% of it on games, music and upgrades for my pc......oh and playstation too.......now I'm down to about 10% per check.....now I have to do without and sometimes I won't get a game until I find it at a garage sale or thrift store a year or two later.....but if I really, really, really, want to play a game that I can't afford and a friend of mine has it....you better believe I won't turn down making my own copy......I don't like warez sites though.....I joined one way back in the day to see what it was about and I found it a waste of my time.....like the guy above who downloaded 200+ mb file and it was corrupt.......how stupid is that......just give me the demo download and I'm happy until the game comes out....
