Make a mission cd for freelancer and put these things in:

When finishing the campaign i started to explore the universe, and it got booring very fast. After having the L10 weapons theres no more challange, trading goods is booring as well. So i thought about what could be with this wonderful game, and how the multiplayer mode could be improved.
Maybe some thoughts can be realized with a mod...

- make ANYTHING destructable. this means once a docking ring is destroyed you cant land anymore, once a trade lane is destroyded youll have to cruise, once a jumpgate is destroyed youll have to use jump holes... maybe in clan war there is an option like "invulnerable home bases" or sth.
- clan war - add the feature to join a faction when joining a multiplayer game. players get ships and equipment very cheap from own faction bases & planets (like the order in campaign). factions can conquer system by eliminating all military ships in the system. when conquered, players will get their factions equipment there as well. once the universe is owned by one faction, the game restarts. maybe some more differences could be added between the factions (e.g. ship speed, ship types, more different ship models, weapon type strength etc.).
- make any ships purchasable - all freighters, gun boats, cruisers and battleships can be purchased by the player. capital ships of course can only be bought at a shipyard. maybe some sort of docking feature would be cool, so friendly players can dock the battleship and control turrets in case of an attack, or start their ship to defend.
- special equipment - add special equipment for each ship type. so you can upgrade your battleship as well as your freighter or gunship
- make more random missions - what about missions like "kill battleship", "attack convoy", "escort transport", "destroy base" (i'm talking of big stations with enough defense), "deliver product x to planet y" ? this wouldnt be a big problem to add, would it ?

Dont get me wrong, this game is great, i was fascinated when playing the campaign, but after finishing the campaign the game is worthless. maybe some of the features can be done with a mod, this would even be greater, or maybe you know any more additions.

YES! "Everything destroyable"

Go take out that Molly base and they'll get mighty pissed at you, and you'll eliminate the Molly threat in that area. Of course, they may build another somewhere else...

You know what else would be cool? if you could build your own stuff. Like maybe you could order a small shipyard to be built and make your own company or something nice like that. Possibly build a battleship to defend...destroy the universe...nice little additions like that

*If you have a cat and a dog in the same house, will that be a problem? Of course not, you might just have solved world hunger*

I like these ideas! It would be cool if Freelancer's multiplayer is a Massivly Multiplayer Online War! Capture/Destroy bases, Take systems, etc. It would be one big war to see who would control Sirius Sector! The idea makes me think of Aces High in space!

Remember the premise behind FREELANCER guys...you're a freelancer... although in a mod or in another game set in the same universe that might be possible....keep coming up with the ideas and maybe some of them will get into a new game!

That's why we use padlocks extensively here...

The best way to enjoy FL in my opinion is follow the storyline only every once in a while. It gives you more time to explore the entire universe and build yourself up. It also extends the life of the game.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

(omg! My post and followup mysteriously vanished into the void of space!!)

The game you're all talking about already exists--or will, anyway, coming May 6th--it's called EVE Online.

Easy there, Saitou. See, ore no seigi wa is *also* tada hitotsu , and that's... Well, I forget what that seigi is, but it involves setting straight people who abuse their power to the point that they only accomplish making themselves look like arrogant asses to the Internet community.

TradeWars meets Freelancer, sounds like a fun game.

Whoa, someone who gets my sig! ^_^ but seriously: posts, even threads have been deleted for lesser reasons. And justifiably. This is the Freelancer forum, and we like to keep it on-topic. Discussions of other games are welcome in the Off-Topic forum. We do not tolerate plugs and snake-oil advertisements, or any attempts to deliberately hijack/derail a thread. Read the FAQ on the top of the page.

Discussion on piracy/cracks will either be closed or deleted without warning. Also pure advertising of other websites in the forums will be removed!

If a user keeps offending these quite logical rules, we will issue a warning. And if that warning is not followed instantly, the user will be banned from The Lancers Reactor. Sorry!

You agreed to this terms when you registered, so please keep your word.

I might not be the official authority in the Forum, but the Shinsengumi does style themselves to a rigid flavour of justice.

Phew! Good thing didn't do any of that. Posting an innocent link to EVE Online was the logical continuation of the topic at hand, which ALREADY has nothing to do with Freelancer. (i.e.: joining factions, MMORPGing, etc.)

> You agreed to this terms when you registered

I did no such thing. ^_^

Semantics.

You did. It's not really our problem of you chose to ignore reading it. But you were supposed to. New posters were clearly instructed to read the FAQ, as stated in one of the stickies
