Equipping things from your cargo hold?

This is ticking me off a great deal..Ive only been playing for an hour, but already ive looted several laser canon things off of baddies that are better then what I currently have mounted. However, the only way to equip them seems to be to sell them, sell what i have equipped, then buy back the better laser. Is it possible to equip thigns from your cargo hold?

You can equip from your cargo hold. There is a little blue icon in the corner of the equipment your trying to equip and/or unequip. You must unequip what your currently have so that you can equip what you want.

Yes. First you have to land somewhere. Then you go to your weapons inventory and if you have a close look at the weapon icons you will eventually see a little gray square that looks like a hatch. Click on a closed "hatch" to unmount a weapon/equipment piece and click on the open "hatches" to mount the particular equpiment. Mounting, of course, works only on hardpoints that have a better level or the same level as the piece of equipment you want to mount.
