Mining... can you do it?

I see alot of minable zones around..... How do you mine? Do you need a special ship?

Just shoot the little floating things in debris/asteroid fields. Every so often there will appear a bit of material that you can beam aboard. Not every field is mineable though. Check the system map to find mineable areas. There is a special filter that shows 'em.
