petitions rarely get anything done...

but if the crashing of the Global Server isnt evidence enough, this game made an assload of cash for M$, which means Add-Ons and possibly sequel

just hope they make it more Sim than Arcade next time around

Yeah, its the truth that petitions do nothing. As of right now, it is still undetermined whether or not they will make a patch/addon/expansion but they are discussing about it. Besides, we have mods to play with in the meantime.

Does anyone know if I can upgrade from Freelancer 2003 to Freelancer XP or do I need to totally reinstall? Also, Is the SP1 update to Freelancer XP necessary after I upgrade? I can't find the Freelancer XP compatibility check anywhere. I wonder if I can dual boot Freelancer XP and Linuxfield 1942?

I want to see a expansion or a patch...no mods for me. A word of warning for those of you who use a mod...back up your save games files first!

You do not need to bug Microsoft about patches or expansion for Freelancer...if it sells well...they will come...if it does not....they will not.

Simple.

Can't anyone get some inside info about the data files like they did with SL so we can mod everything ourselves?

Or is this going to be another hacking session with no outside help.

I would like to at least see some sort of patch for the game to create a better system for modding, so there isn't the need to back up and replace critical game files. Something like the system in I-War 2 would be cool

Wait, has there actually been any word on how Freelancer's been doing at retail?

I just went to a local EB and there wasn't a copy in sight. That MIGHT be a good thing, but hard to say.
