Upcoming patches

Now that the game is released and many of us are already playing I would like to open the discussion on upcoming patches.

I would like to congratulate Digital Anvil for this great game. But in my opinion we could make it even more appealing specialy for those playing multiplayer.
Try to organize your ideas on features that are some how possible to come with new patches or expansion packs.

This are my ideas for upcomming patches :

- Server side clan registration - A new menu in witch a player could register a clan and other players could join...
- Modding support...specially for multiplayer... A server administrator could add mods... Mods could be new systems, ships, etc etc...A simple menu eighter in game or not, in witch server administrators could install and activate mods...
It seams from what Ive read in the editing forum , that its not that difficult to create new stuff for the game...
- Shared player database between servers.
- Favorites menu in in-game server browser
- Direct IP in in-game server browser

Expansion pack/patch ideas :

- An application to make it easier the creation of new sectors, etc etc...
- Jump gates that lead to other servers and characters are past between servers (of course)
- Server administrator could had news to the news service...
- Special news area for users
- A better dynamic economy...
- Tools for event creation. Server can script special events...Events could range from story like missions, to "special" scripted events like an asteroid passing in a certain area. A star explosion. (for example ...the corona variable could be manipulated so that it reaches all the system...)

Probably only Expansion pack/next game ideas:

- Player run corporations
- Player station creation
- More ships, more weapons, bigger ships etc etc etc...
- Good integration of one Universe different servers....(share same economy, player base, etc etc)

Next game:

- Planets, stations etc make orbits
- An universe in witch its possible for an asteroid or to crash in a planet...Giant comets pass by... Stars explode.. I mean an ever more dynamic universe...

Or in the very imminent future, two things (relative to the MP aspect):

a. a way for checking for consistency in player gamefiles to avoid cheating in MP.

b. the ability to own more than one ship and be able to swap between them (I've found it being wished for several times when in MP ["sec, let me go get my freighter so we can do that cargo run" ... *sigh*).

If there were player bases, these bases should be able to have basic manufacturing, like the latest HardWar patches had. Basically, you buy production equipment and install it in your hangar / base and then you provide the machinery with the raw materials necessary, give it time and it should start producing or refining what you need. Hell, even make the machinery able to make more machinery. How about that?

Some of those things are being done in other games atm - Eve comes to mind

I'd really like to see some of those changes/additions to the MP part of the game. It'd really make the MP experience fuller. I'd add some new mission types to that list also - there're a lot of suggestion all over the place here.

I personally don't want to have corporations to run, I'd rather work for a corporation. Maybe with a few wingmen or hired mercs, but I don't want to sit in an office and send ships around

Hehe, ok. I think however that this game is mostly complete But there always is a sequel, as you have listed in your lists

If they do make an expansion, I just hope they make some more SP storylines with a lot of branching possibilities... And the option to meet different people that would branch into a different storyline of events. That would be really awesome...

And more ships, more weapons, more equipment...

How about somekind of energy batteries to instantly give power back to the weapons when it gets exhausted?

Well, they've made plenty of expansion packs for Mechwarrior4, so I don't see why they wouldn't make some expansion packs... Hope FL sells well enough that they'd consider it.

They should make Juni available after SP... hee hee hee
Maybe some rockets like in Freespace 2
Cloaking devices
Jump drive... like a personal jump hole or something...

Why not make it like a 3d shooter when in base and and a bit more in base action and storylines ,also like the idea of belonging to clan or spy concept of trader pirate or Bounty hunter to be developed so you could play as diferent characters as well as a freelancer maybe join guild and only certain ships weapons available to each guild or freelancer all but at a price?

Great ideas. I really hope they make your MP character universal on all servers. I already lost my Titan with level 10 guns and shields on one server since the server admin decided to go from a nice 24 man open server instead to limit the users to 5 and password protect it. People will only restart careers online so many times before they just stop playing.

On PK enabled servers.. cargo from a killed player should not just go down with the ship.. but have the same odds of showing up in space as any other frieghter that gets jacked. Also, a nice option where you could target a player and press a key and the option of "drop your cargo or else: Accept/Decline" as a warning before opening fire without alot of text.

If they run, that means "decline' lol.. boom!

P.S. why do guys who drive heavy fighters complain when they get PK'd by a Bloodhoud or Wolfhound when their ship easily outclasses it? lmao. When it takes me hours to get on Elite.. I'm mad and ready to PK everyone outside of Liberty when I finally get there.. hehe.
