SP vs MP.... Your preference?

So far I am exclusively playing SP and I enjoy the storyline.

I wonder though if I would be enjoying the MP more as I am sortof frustrated with how I frequently hit these "road blocks" where I cannot level up until I do a mission.

Well, since levels seem to be nothing more than just a precursor to being able to equip better items, I guess the real problem is that I cannot go to other systems to do the big money trade routes and get a better ship.

How is MP? Is it just as fun (or more) than SP?

Is the lack of the SP campaign something you really miss?

I read in another thread that MP in a window doesn't pause when you exit the window, that alone would be nice on trade routes.

Anyway..... your opinions on this?

SP all the way for me. I can take my time and play the game the way I like to.
I really do not care if it takes me 6 months to explore all there is in Freelancer.
Most of my experence in multiplayer games is...most people want to zip around like there is no tommorrow.

Why do you think turtles are some of the longest living animals in the world? And mice are some of the shortest?

I also love the SP and the storyline is great. It makes me wonder how I would feel if I was playing with out it.

On the flipside, I wish I had a bit more freedom to upgrade my ship and such. Further, someone said if you play windowed mode MP your ship keeps flying even when you swap into another window. That would make trade runs a LOT more bearable.

and how do you get into windowed mode? I haven't seen that option anywhere

I used to play SP and did the campaign which was very exciting and time consuming. I really enjoyed the talking and the movies. I used about 20 hours to complete it. Personally I think the campaign is too short, only 13 missions! The good thing about SP is that you can buy the Anubis at $ 1000 and weapons at $70-$140 at the end of the campaign. I think the Anubis is for SP only. Am I wrong?

Well, I missed the excitement in SP after I completed the campaign, so I am playing MP now.
