MINING: How does it work?

How does mining work?

Where can you mine for good stuff?

I remember getting a message about some mining "south" (*boggle*) of Planet Pittsburgh, but I cruised around some and never saw anything.

Any tips here?

You chould be in mineable zone of the map. Check it out.
Then you'll see some funny objects flying around, not those pretty rocks, which normal pilot would take as a mining target, but those tiny things, which hilighted by white then you move crusor over them, in which case you should soot them.
If that object were containing something valuable it will be the remants of it, marked with white box, and you'll be able to tractor it into cargo hold. Also you must have a patience, because not all of tem drop some minerals. That depends on how rich is that area.

Er..... I'm 30 years old.

It would be nice to know *A* place so I can at least learn how it works and learn what the things actually look like that you mine from.

As for exploring, yes that is a big thing I enjoy, but that isn't everyone's cup of tea. Don't assume that the things you enjoy MUST be what others enjoy as well.

just pull up your navmap (where your waypoints are) and hover your mouse over the small icons, one of them will be to show mining zones (i think it's the pickaxe one). then head to that area and shoot the little rocks/things that actually move around, not the big stationary ones.

before long you'll get to a place where there is a debris field called "silverton" and a "copperton", guess what you can get there

as far as the new york system goes, expect to get lots of scrap metal from the debris fields in the area.
