Yeah, how much work are you really going to get done while playing video games?

Yup, just use -windowed in the command line. (I.e. put it after whatever's in the Target box of your Freelancer shortcut.)

Well Divine Shadow, I program games for a living, so it is pretty easy for me to play in one window while I code in a text editor in another.

When you click to a different window, it pauses the game.

Is there any way to make the game keep running?

I want to be able to do other stuff while my ship is running along trade lanes and such.

Is there any possibility that this might be fixed?

Possibly the only thing I don't like about this game is that the travel times are already starting to wear on me. They almost feel like MMORPG travel times.

I don't mind a little bit so I can "feel" the vastness of space, but it would be nice if I could at least click away and do something else while going along a trade lane.

In the same vein, I should be able to select a few waypoints and have the ship take then all on its own unless I get attacked.

well you could open a mp game on play it alone, though you can´t play the 13 sp missions that way.

Right. That's the problem. I actually really like the SP storyline so far.

I just wish I could do trade runs without having to have the game in the foreground.
