Not enough with the box, I agree. I got spoiled by that huge 'ol compendium-manual combo that came with Starsiege.

At the very least, they should have had a listing of ships with a snapshot and description, and a REAL CD case. Not enough space on the box for really good art/screens, either. Heck, I almost missed it on the shelf and started to walk out the door all upset until the guy behind the counter pointed out the tiny line of boxes on the top rack. The contents and size of the box is pretty important.

Of course, that's more than made up for by a huge, huge game, but the packaging should suit what it's holding.

The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

well, sadly, its a trend these days to have these mini, novel sized boxes for the games
When these small boxes came out and my friend first saw them, the first thing he said was "are they TRYING to make shoplifting EASIER?!"

Post Fri Mar 07, 2003 12:34 am

haha Ender!! shoplifting easier? rolf!! how'd you guess!! EB just stopped doing this, but for a long while they were removing the games from boxes to keep them from being stolen

But seriously, from a Retailers perspective, why do you think they are pushing for smaller boxes? Smaller boxes mean more copies take up less space, means they can have more variety in the same space and increase overall products available without having the increase store size or remove other items just to make room for software. Which, in the end, ends up in the trash anyway. Who the hell keeps the damn box? <looks around at floor, ceiling, etc.>

But hey, they had to cut out the jewel case to play for all the free t-shirts ! hehe

Hahahha, Jewel cases rule... Beef is the best...... and btw... I'm a member of the Green party.... go figure eh? Just because your a liberal doesn't mean you don't like a nice delicious veal parmigiana or any other baby animal for that matter... and if you drink milk you can eat veal because veal is a byproduct of milk.... What else should we do with all the baby cows?

I just picked up my Aussie version, and guess what, I got a plastic Jewel case for my CD. Weird how the US version had a paper case.....

Guess us Aussies really are catching up eh??
