One Kill-One Planet as Enemy!

I only killed a ship near manhattan and then, all police ships..... started to shot at me!! My reputation to them was full! Then I got into a tradelane, then I came back and they were still hostile to me.....

Wht did you attack that ship? If just for the fun of it...the police did not like your sense of humor! Stands to reason they would be hostle towards you...you became after all..a criminal. Best to use some save game slots other than just the auto save slot.

Imagine yourself:

------------------------

You're standing in front of an police station. You shoot a civillian without a reason. The police starts to shoot at you because they're over agressive

You manage to get away by jumping in a taxi

2 Hours later you return, and everybody is glad to see you and they forgot that you shot someone 2 hours ago.

-----------------------------

That isn't very realistic right? They remember that you're a crazy guy that shoots people

Ok ok , but 1 thing is funny: It was SO: I killed a friendly or neutral ship near detroit munitions (no xenos, junker or a pirate). Ok, detroitMunitions (but not DSE (detroit munitions is a Deep Space Engineering Base) was hostile to me. Then I got into a trade lane to manhattan, and they also where suddendly hostile to me! Why? Was there maybe a DSE ship who said to newark station: Theres a pirate with signation: Freelancer Alpha 1/1 ?

Yep..you got yourself marked! Instead of a wanted poster on a telephone pole or post office...they simply put out a all points alert bulletin....that goes something like this..." Alert!..some knucklehead ( Alpha 1/1 ) has just attacked a friendly ship for no reason except to blow it to hell! You are hereby directed to stop this insane aggressor!"

moral of this story,
follow the law or the police won't like you.

Post Sun Mar 02, 2003 4:07 pm

its more like... slapping someone's girlfriend in front of them, except she has many partners.

Moose: watch out! missile on our 6!!
pilot(you):u r in the rear seat, and its at our '6' - u first.

Funny though, shoot one ship (you don't even need to destroy it) and you're the universes most wanted. Obey the law and the Police float around entirely comatose whilst you get lane jacked on a (relatively) regular basis. Sure sometimes someone may help out, but you can hardly say that a decent squad of law enforcement shows up if you're lane jacked near a major planet... you still have to fend for yourself.

?..they have helped me before when i got lane hacked. And when they ( rogues, pirates, junkers , etc. ) attack me near a base or planet...they attack the aggressors...atleast they do for me..my rep with them ( police ) is very high.

I was far away from anything the other day and these Rogues atacked me and out of nowhere this Bounty Hunter shows up and joins me in the fight agianst them and afterwards flew in formation with me for a long time..when he left the formation..he said...."watch your slef out here..things can get ugly if you are not careful!" My rep with the Bounty Hunters is also very high. Got to love this game!

That's cool!

It's like he's really a person.
But how do you get the bounty hunters to like you? (flying mission for them off course, but what else).
I never attacked anyone of them, but they still are neutral-hostile (the bar goes a bit to the red side in stead of the green side)

Do a lot of the board missions and kill criminals. My rep with the Bounty hunters is way over in the green. They happen to also do a lot of missions to track down criminals.

I was spending a while just fighting rogues/junkers. For a lot of battles, bounty hunters were around...and I noticed my rep suddenly went up. So I assume that if you fight enemies while the bounty hunters are around, it helps improve your rep with them.
