Much thx to you, Mubata.
But now I need an encrypter. Where do I find this one?

Post Mon Mar 03, 2003 6:03 pm

Oh, and you dont need an encrypter, FL will read the decompressed .ini files.... which makes it very mod friendly....

Hey Mubata,

Could you make your edited files available to the gaming public? Pretty please, huh huh? I'd really like to get my hands on em, as I am right awful when it comes to futzing round with code. If you haven't a page to host them off of, could you email them to me? [email protected], if so!

Feel free to submit mods to me!

So is your mod posted anywhere, or at least detailed instructions on how exactly to make the ships available. I've stumbled around in the .ini files a bit and haven't really found how to get it done. I was also hoping to make certain equipment available at level 1, just like the mod that made all ships available at level 1. I would love it if you e-mailed me, but this is something that should be publicly accessible.

Sure thing Bargib, lemme redo which ships available at the different bases (so it doesnt matter if you play a good guy, or pirate) and zip it up. It will only work for the demo tho' since that is all I have at the moment... to be fixed when it ships.

By the way, never submitted a file to anyone here before (and I dont have any webspace yet).... you just want me to e-mail you the file when I'm done?

Well, I got the ini files decompressed, but I have no idea what to change in there (tried to make a Stiletto available at Buffalo Base vice the Dagger, and failed) so I'll wait for the finished files. Thanks for all the work you put into this, even though the full version comes out tomorrow, I'd just like to play around with the different ships for a bit.

Almost done.... just making sure that as many of the ships/weapons/shields/thrusters are available as possible, and adjusting the prices so that they're affordable as well....

Awesome! Any chance that you could add a little "how-to" guide later on? What each column in the market.ini files is (1st is level, 2nd is?). And what needs to be changed in the shiparch and equip .ini files as well. It could help out those of us who would like to make mods (some based on other sci-fi enviroments).

I'll try, it took a while to figure some of it out... but after finishing the single player a couple times (after I buy the game), I'm definately going to create some mods for the game.

Hopefully DA will release some tools so we can create some custom models and textures for the game too...

Well I have the file done for those who want it... you just have to unzip it into your freelancer folder and choose yes to overwrite the existing files.

As a note... back the data folder up (ie copy the folder somewhere else on your HDD) so if something doesnt work right you dont have to reinstall...

BTW, who can I submit this file to so others can download it?

Here is another link at tripod for the time being as well...

Incedentally, for some reason, if you have more than one ship at any of the given bases... it causes problems. So I placed different ships at the different bases. You'll have to go to the other bases to find all of the other ships that are available in the demo.

Have fun with it everyone (who like me are still stuck with the demo)

Bit of a problem.

It installed just fine. Let me purchase a ship, no problem. Buuuuut, when I went to try and undock with the Legionnaire I purchased in Norfolk, the ship was entirely invisible! Also, when I attempted to purchase some of the new weapons you added, it said I hadn't a ship capable of supporting those weapons. Don't know if that was a side effect of the invisibility, or what.

Know how to fix this, yet?
