To Ajim ('bout the sig)

The corsairs say "..because you were daydreaming" I think. And every "bad" faction say it - not just the corsairs.

It's all really simple but for one little fact.

first of all look at a faction's 'sheet' and see who their friend and enemies are, if you want to be friends with them don't attack them or their friends, and don't be as nice to their enemies.
if you wan't to be enemies with someone: open fire..

so to answer the 'how did that happen?' xenos will love you for killing anyone but them... since they are enemies with everyone...

about docking with white stations (neutral) this will only work if you aren't spotted by one of your enemies as you approach the station, if that enemy of yours is friends with the station. If that friend of the base does spot you everyone that's friends with him will turn on you...

tip: approach white pirate bases with no cargo, so that no pirates will try and rob you, in which case the whole base will turn on you; this makes smuggling cardamine to manhatten from a pirate base that you aren't friends with all the more fun!...

the little fact remains that story-line mission will screw up your reps with factions. otherwise the story wouldn't exactly work right.(although I must admit some changes are a little weird (like the outcasts after lvl 4)) so either don't do story-line missions or do all story-line missions and then play.

one more thing: killing xenos that come around naturally is good thing... killing xenos on a mission from another faction isn't nearly as effective: say you want to be buddies with the rogues then killing xenos while working for ageira won't help...

have fun!

I managed to be friendly with pirates (CG, Liberty Rogues and others) by attacking those cargo depots to get attention and destroying every ship in sight. I even attacked police and military bases (destroyed their cannons). After half an hour, the CG now are almost friendly (now I can take their missions).

One thing: it´s impossible to do this right in the begining (level 1) unless you use a MOD to change your guns (I used the beam weapon mod that came with Freelancer Mod Manager v1.1). I know some people will think that´s cheating, but in SP with any NoMissions MOD, if you want to be a pirate right from the start, that´s a way to do it. Otherwise, finish the SP storyline first, then you may think about being a pirate.
