What is there to do in the demo?

What is there to do in the demo?

Hey all. First time here.
I ask this as an honest question as I am enjoying the demo greatly, but after the first story mission I just don't really find much to do. All of the missions are kill badies (and it gets old). Are there no escort or trading missions? Is there nothing really interesting to discover? I roamed around some but the only intresting thing I discovered was lots of badies in the Badlands and just a couple more bars on the known trade routes.

Hopefully the full version will have more variety of gaming styles... -Matt

This is what I am also worried about... I to hope there is A LOT MORE stuff to do in the full version... I know the Demo only gives you a little but I sure hope the full game is not just "MORE" of what is in the demo..

I also have a question, I can't jump to any other system, like texas, ect. when i get tot he jump gate it says access denied. whuzzup? I take it that this is just a demo limitation??

This a "demo" guys. Of course the full version will have a lot more to do! You are limited to the first system in the demo. But the amount you can do and see in the demo is a lot! Much more so than in a lot of demos I have played.

Go and try finding the rogues/hidden bases and change your rep to gain access to them.
That should keep you busy for a while

Well, I took the opportunity to explore the New York solar system. I followed each trade lane out to the perimeter and discovered a few locations that weren't immediately visible on the map like: Some abandoned research center, badlands, some light weapons production station, a naval station.

I suppose I could try going cruising beyond the trade lanes but I get attacked a LOT when I do. And going up against 4-5 fighters solo is kind of hard. The people who think this demo is easy must just be staying by trade lanes.

If you are being attacked alot, fly around in cruise mode. The baddies can't keep up with you

With a Patriot with 2 Scorpions and 2 Drails, and a full load of nanobots and shield batteries, those Rogues and Xenos are nothing.

Attacking the navy at the Battleship Missouri, however.... I lasted for a good 10 minutes, until they got lucky with a torpedo.

Stormtrooper Tactics 101: Okay class, repeat after me. "There he is! Blast em!" Very good.

The Rhino with 3 Javelins on the gun mounts and 5 Turrets kind of takes care of business as well with these bad guys...haven't turned to the Dark Side yet, but there's still tonight

Intresting... I've found that by just flying around there is quite a few places that are totally empty, but then every so often I run in to something interesting. Like that classified mine field over near Newport (I believe) that really seems like something exciting might be in it. And the Badlands certainly is my big question mark I've been exploring (in a group, of course!).

How easy is it to "switch" sides anyways? If you just start attacking the LSF for example, does that all of a sudden make the baddies like you? Seems like the game would all of a sudden be hard if the navy didn't like you, as all those trade lanes would be blocked off from you! (or.. maybe that's the fun in it! )

Is it actually possible though to completely erradicate a group? Like if you fight enough rouges and destroy the pirate bases (?) in the Badlands, you could actually return it to being friendly territory? Or does the game protect itself from this?

Certainly an intresting game... and the post on the main page has got me wondering why there are "9 houses" now. Definately gonna have to grab the full version... --Matt
