Just wondering about Missions?

Hi, I was looking at PC Gamer ad for Freelancer and you see about 12 to 15 missions typem but that just the ad. I just hope the full version has more missions then the demo.

Those missions are the storyline missions. The randomly generated missions are infinite. You don't have to follow the storyline missions. You can take a break and explore the universe or do some smuggling

Hi, that what I like to do, travel around the freelancer galaxy and then play the story campaign. That how I played in Privateer 2, travel around then the story. But I must say the Freelancer is much more bigger then Privateer 2 universe so I hope I have a great time playing it .

If you plan on playing the storyline, it gets integrated into the game...meaning that you can't go out and explore the universe before entering into it. You will be blocked from jump node access to systems until you pass certain storyline missions, as well as being locked into certain types of weapons and ships until you pass certain level requirements (based on your net worth), and you won't be able to reach those levels until you complete storyline missions.

Laz: you have to put it in this most negative way? You can freely explore the universe after completing a few missions, but you are more than in Privateer 2 pushed towards doing missions.

Not that I felt I ever was forced in a way I disliked, and you can also play the MP universe either alone or over the Internet. Then the whole universe is open!

*blinks* negative way? how is stating facts negative? The post i was replying to stated that they wanted to first explore the universe and then start in on the storyline, like privateer. The way freelancer is structured, this path is not possible.

I guess there about 48 SP mission because there 48 systems to explore in the full version, who knows?? But I hope so

Nah there are only 12 story line missions, but Im not quite sure how this blocking of systems thing works. Do you want to elaborate on that Laz? Are 5-6 nodes opened after you complete a story line mission or are entire houses opened up?

I haven't completed all the SP missions yet, but it seems like most of a houses jump lanes are opened up every couple of storyline missions, like 4 liberty systems were available after mission 2, then the bretonia systems were added after mission 4, etc. I haven't checked this exhaustively, since a LOT of space is opened up when stuff is unlocked, and i simply haven't taken the time to check all available warp links from the liberty systems after i got to bretonia.
