I Like It :-) (Freelancer Demo)

Yep I like it :-) . I had to get used to it a bit... but once I did some random missions (after the storymission), and bought another ship and some guns, the fun really started.

I'm especially font of the interface of the bars (with the different characters in it) and other features of stations / planets ... The flying, exploring and combat is also good i.m.o..

The only thing I see a bit negative so far is the Arcade look of the game (I'm not talking about graphics, as those are great, but how the game feels...) Maybe that feeling will go away soon... as Freelancer is definitly completely different as what I expected.... (once you play it, you'll know it)

Greetings,
StarWolf

p.s. The mouse control really works, although I have the idea that when you switch between the two modes (spacebar), my ship sometimes just turns around flies in another direction. Maybe it's just me or a small bug ?

My ship always wheels to the right when I get knocked out of a trade lane.

Whatever. Still a great game.

You don't have to hit the spacebar to use mouseflight mode. If you hold down the left mouse button the ship goes into mouse fly mode. I find it more convienent than hitting the spacebar.

This happens when you've set a "goto" or "dock" course. When you switch to mouseflight you can fly around freely but as soon as you deactivate mouseflight, your ship resumes the old course. To avoid that you have to go into "free flight" mode by pressing ESCAPE (drops you out of cruise or out of tradelanes aswell) or by clicking on the free flight icon left from the goto icon. If you do the latter the cruise engines stay engaged.

Or it might be the autoleveling: press L to deactivate it.
