Am I missing something here?..Equipping looted items on your

hmm.. well I've been playing through the demo and *blush* a little of the full (to tide me over couple weeks til it comes out in stores) and something that has been bothering me is HOW do you equip and unequip items from your ship. Say you've found a gun better then one you currently have but all your slots are full the only way I've found to get that weapon is to sell one of your guns (freeing a slot) sell the salvaged weapon from your inventory and buy it back again. Is this really the only way? seems ridiculous.. Appreciate your help.

On another little note, is it possible to own more then one ship? If not you really should be able to own different ships and take out the one you please. For example if you feel like doing some commodity trading for an hour and then go on a combat mission you pretty much have to sell your freighter and buy another ship.

Other then that Freelancer has completly lived up to my expectations, great game. For all those that have been playing, enjoy it.. for all those still waiting I admire your discipline.

Jesse.

When you are docked, go to your inventory screen and there should be a square in the upper left of the equipment. Click it to mount and unmount equipment.

No, the game is stressed for you to only have one ship. It is your avatar and it gives it and you more character if you would only have one ship. Having more ships would dilute the feeling.

Bravo!
You are getting so good at regurgitating the maketing departments bile up for all readers to be forcefed!
I applaud you!

Sorry, but this "Having more ships would dilute the feeling." excuse is B-U-L-L, BULL!
Oh, this is an "RPG"!
I forgot!
Then it makes perfect sense that we should only have one ship at a time!
Yeah, just like in any "fantasy" RPG we can only have one set of ARMOR, and own one weapon, at a time, right?
After all, you can call it whatever you like, but a ship is just the players Armor & Weapons in a Space-RPG.

Hmmm...
I guess that since I already own a Honda Civic that I shouldn't also own a Corvette.
Since while I am driving the Vette it would just be "diluted" by the fact that I have my Civic sitting at home in the driveway.

Hmmm...
Guess if I drive out to California from the east coast I shouldn't buy a house, and a car there.
Since it will be "diluted" by the fact that I also own a house and car on the other coast.

Hmmm...
If anything I would think that having my "other ship" sitting in dock at some far away place would make me feel MORE immersed...the further I got away from it the more "away from home" I would feel . And, returning to see it "sitting in dock" would make me have that "it's good to be home" feeling .

Hmmm...
It keeps being said "this game can be played far after the storyline ends" and "multiplayer is such a LARGE part of this game's appeal".
So, please don't give the same excuse "but who wants to keep going backwards to change ships?".
Having a central area/base you call "home" seems like a reasonable, and human, thing to do to me.

Face it already.
The devs decided that having players have more than one ship, and the programming that goes with it, just wasn't worth the effort.
NO BIG DEAL!
But, for all that is HOLY, quit it with the LAME "it is your avatar", "it would dilute the feeling", and "this isn't space-tycoon/garagelancer" crap!

I personally don't care about having only one ship, or having the ability to have 10,000!
But seeing the same insane, illogical, and nonsensical reasons given for every question/comment about the game, and having them be the same lame excuses/comments that the devs cooked up years ago, is driving me freaking nuts!

Sorry, I guess waiting for the 4th is really getting to me.

G'Night,

PD

IMO, I feel like the devs are assuming that we will pick one career and stay with that, for example:

Merchants would only buy frieghters, and each time the merchant had enough to get a bigger freighter he would trade his old one in for a new one.

A bounty hunter would do the same.

So as someone who wants to be a policeman, a military man,and so on.

But IMO the devs are wrong.

But I say oh well. I'll have fun freelancing around.

Duh. What kind of freaky RPGs have you been playing? you can definitely own more than one armor and weapon. You just can't wear all of them simultaneously.

I agree. There's no tetris or other mini-side games to play on those long flights. There's no FPS for when Trent lands on a planet/base. Trent can't carry pulse rifles and body armor. Trent can't build starbases and churn out armies of midgets, neither can he cast Lightning Bolt. And where the hell is my Gunblade?!
I guess we can also chalk those to programmer's laziness, eh?

Personally folks I believe the idea of owning multiple ships was thrown out because you would have to have a home base, a garage so to speak. So every time you wanted to change ship you would have to head back to your base.
I don't know about you but I would find that extremely annoying especially considering if you were out in the border worlds and your base was back in liberty.

and there is no need to be so cocky Pyrate Dredd, there is no need to relentlessly harass someone to get your point across. EB might think his point is valid, just because you don't doesn't give you the right to slander.
