Demo: Pirate Base

Dunno if anyone's asked this before, but....

Okay, so I found the pirate base in the Badlands in the demo, but I'm not on good terms with the pirates and immediately got attacked by a dozen ships. You also can't land on a hostile base. Anyone ever get on the pirates' good side (in the DEMO) and land on that thing? I'm wondering if it's possible, as I'd rather not go through the trouble of getting Liberty after me if it's not.

Hm, it's a Liberty Rogue base though, isn't it? All the hacked files still show they hate me.

Yah it is possible to land there, but apart from the cool backdrop in the bar, there is nothing to be found there

yeah it's possible to land there.. i just went nutso on universal shipping at the detriot munitions area. after blowing up like 100 fighters and 20 transports, the outcasts and rogues were finally freindly to me. everyone else on the other hand hated my guts (strangely enough.. the xenos were my bestest friends in the univers) that just shows you something about faction relations. you can either do it the cheap and easy way (bribes) or by going balistic and blowing ppl up. (my option of choice )

...Just a random thought from a random mind

Heh, I think I managed to land there after blowing up just a dozen ships...some Universals, a couple Liberty Navy ships, and some Bounty Hunters engaging some pirates. I was still over the halfway point on the pirates' bad side, but I could land, at least. Couldn't take up any missions though.

Did you have a look at the Buffalo's equipment store? They sell some kick ass guns (level 6 and up).

the most efficient way of getting in favor is attacking Bounty Hunters. No one in the demo likes them or allies with them.

Can you do pirate missions

Even though there gone i will carry on there ideas in freelancer LONG LIVE THE COALITION

If you want to get on the Liberty Rogues good side do the following:

Go to Detroit and kill Xenos... Kill a lot of Xenos.. Lots and lots.

Then go to Rochester (Junker base) and take missions against Xenos, build up faction with the Junkers. Prety soon the LIberty Rogues will be neutral with you and you will be able to land at Buffalo base in the bad lands.

Then you kill a few bounty hunter or navy guys to build your faction with the Liberty Rogues. BE CAREFUL! you kill too many and Buffalo is the only place in New York you will be able to land.

Then when you get on good enough terms with the Liberty Rogues you can take missions from their bases increasing your faction even more.

Good luck!

if you are on the pirates side how do you buy stuff if you can't land at normal bases?

Post Mon Feb 24, 2003 11:18 pm

After completed the first mission in the demo, I didn't attack any Rogues or Outcasts. I just attacked Xenos instead. Xenos are ennemies with everyone but one or two factions and have no allies. So killing them improve a lot of factions without lowering any. After about 30 Xenos destroyed, I went neutral with both Rogues and Outcast and still loved by Liberty forces and companies.

As said, the Rogue base in demo is Buffalo and i can land there now (they sell an excellent fighter, but for level 4 only). I couldn't find the Oucast base in New York, if there's any.
