The key is:

957GXT05P0KLGWL

But you sure as hell didn't get it from me...

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:19 am

unfortunately all serial numbers are unique and get checked on the net so there isn't anyhope of getting the game running unless someone sends you a key which hasn't been used yet. i wonder if this can be bypassed?

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:19 am

Did you just try mine?

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:19 am

It looks like to me FilePlanet's just trying to make a few extra bucks, the CD key seems to be a non-DA implement

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:21 am

yes unholycow i just did and it didn't work

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:22 am

Perhaps you could ask for another one and send it to me by mail

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:22 am

Okey, at least I tried.

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:35 am

Thanks for the effort Cow....looks like we all tried your number....looks like we'll have to hog the net getting it again a little later...

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 4:49 am

The closer it gets and there more people around me play the game (no matter if beta or demo) the more it sucks to wait...

Thanks for giving us the key but looks like fileplanet really means it when they make something exclusive. If someone would have told me that i would be that obsessed with a damn computer game before the "gone gold" announcement, i would have laughed at him.

EDIT: one more thing: is it just me or does this ez-panel thingy really remind me of this planned nightmare they call palladium/tcpa? Big Brother is watching you... in a brave new world.

Lev, that is so true. Amen to that.

I can't believe this security crap. For a DEMO!!! Arghh. Why must they do this to us? Why?!

The faster the game gets out, the POTENTIAL for more buyers goes up. I'm speaking of the demo of course.

Edit: Err, What I mean to say is that if they remove this exclusive thingy, then more people would have access to it as opposed to us nagging and crying about not getting it which causes us to be frustrated and possibly get so upset that some wouldn't even want the game after a fiasco like this.

Not me, but maybe others

Yes, this is very unconvenient for me since my own PC is not connected to the Net. I usually resort to burn cds from my roommate's PC.

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 9:57 am

oh yeah... place 260/260 in line (FP) -> 36 min until the d/l starts + about 5 h until I have the damn demo with with my crappy ISDN...at least I now know what to do all saturday

It's great. Be warned, though. It's kinda short. I finished the story missions in a little less than an hour, and that was spending time checking everything out. There's still tons to do, however.

Stormtrooper Tactics 101: Okay class, repeat after me. "There he is! Blast em!" Very good.

I'm downloading now from the FileFront link on the TLR homepage. I ain't paying FilePlanet to download something that I can get free elsewhere or in a couple of days time.

WTF is all this B.S. about a CD key required for a goddamn demo? Has someone somewhere taken leave of their senses? Where the hell do you get the CD key from anyway? Are you telling me I'm spending over 3 and a half hours downloading something that I won't be able to play? Christ, first I have to wait until mid-April for the final game and in the meantime I've been gagging for a demo AND NOW THIS? AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!

This is hardly the best way for MS to go about drumming up interest and therefore sales of Freelancer. Or is this down to those 'wonderful' chaps at FilePlanet and their 'exclusives' again?

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 10:12 am

Every minute of playing Freelancer is worth half a day of waiting ...
@Route: Now everybody can d/l the Demo on Fileplanet for free, afaik it's without a key now, or at least u can easyily get the key via gamespy (?), gotta check that other thread again...
