Loading

I haven't played the PR demo (and I never will) so I'm curious about loading. Does FL load once when you start the game or does it load each individual sector as you enter them?

Example: You are in Liberty Space...you cross a "line" and Britonia space loads.
I hope it doesn't load that way...

you have to take gates to get to the different systems, so in a sense, that is how it works, by "zoning".



Im not sure if theres an actual wait time when ya take the gates, or if its seemless.

The little wormhole "cutscene" for traveling a jumpgate takes under ten seconds. About halfway through it, it pauses for less than a second which is it's actual load time. It's pretty seamless unless you have a slower computer. Then it may take a couple seconds to load.

For me the jump sequence loading screen is actually pretty much instantaneous. If they made the fade to white part a little smoother you wouldn't actually notice it at all.

It can take up to 20 seconds on computers near the minimum specs.

Ya, it's almost instant here, but only in single player. Multi seems to take a few seconds longer (Oh No!)

My machine is near the low end and there is a pause to load some of the times. To me it's not that big of a deal.

Just look at it as some sort of phenomenon caused by space/time-shift in the trade lane and it won't bother you.

Haha, sounds good. I have a higher end computer so I don't think I'll have any problems. Thanks for the awnsers.
