Instead of waiting why not just order it from the U.S or is it because some prefer it in there own language ?

Post Thu Feb 20, 2003 8:03 pm

Want it now!

If you're a youngster from Europe and you dont have a credit card, its hard to get the game from the US.
Credit cards arent as usual as in the US here.
Dont know if thats the case with Silberwolf, but it is whats going on a lot.

Welcome to TLR new peepz

Hi again!
What would you do if you live in Austria, are 13 years old , can speak, read and write the english language effectual, know a good german-english dictionary on a website and you must have this game.
1. Buy the UK-Version ( March, 7th )
2. Buy the German Version (April, 18th )

Hm, dunno. Have you read English novels, or even English versions of German novels and found them to be as good? If not, then I'd suggest waiting.

At any time I´d choose the original version of a game over a localized one. Not only does the localization usually suck (like the voice acting in Unreal 2), but you´re bound to lose some of the "richness" the original language has over the language it is being localized for. During the making of a given title, in no cases are other languages taken into consideration while writing the dialogues. Best example for this is the movie "Evil Ed", where the main actor at some point says "Ruhe in Stückchen". This makes absolutely no sense in the german language.

Yes, I think like you, preacher0815. And "Ruhe in Stückchen" is really a nonsense . May it be that come from Rest in peace (may be he thought pieces). Rest in pieces= Ruhe in Stückchen
The english i understand come from the school, from a really good german-english dictionary (http://dict.leo.org/?lang=de), and from the english games i played. And for me, it sounds cooler if I hear: Need Assistance! instead "Brauche Unterstützung!" . I would be happy if youll post more replies to this post and to my question
Thanks, Silberwolf
