Hello there,gotta warn you though since you're new here that you've been bitten by the Freelancer bug there is no cure & the only treatment is a highly anticipated game with 31 pilotable craft,be warned.

Welcome to the reator Chillum. Im ex elite on a C64 and I don't think I've actually met anyone that made Elite status without cheating. I know I cheated my butt off.

I had the motivation of a group of about 10 people all competing over the summer holidays, with the occasional bribe (ie odd job day) to the school computer teacher so we could play networked during the holidays (I had the c64 version at home, which is what I made elite on, not the been version, although the beeb version is THE version if you know what I mean. Same with chuckie egg )
Once you get to Deadly it isn't too hard, it's just time consuming. If I recall correctly you needed around 40000+ kills for Elite.

We also found that 'infamous' capital ship when all 8 of us were flying about, so I know it existed, as much as everyone on the net says it didn't. We shot it and shot it and shot it to no avail. It didn't shoot us, or move, and eventually we all lined up and rammed the bugger All a bit of a let down really

Bad news people: the future of Freelancer looks bleak.


According to an undisclosed source, current PC technology can't handle Designer Chris Roberts' original view of the game and so a drastic re-scaling of the game may be on the cards.

Worse news however is that Roberts himself has left Digital Anvil and other members of the company are said to leaving too. This could mean that Freelancer may actually be getting scrapped altogether. We'll let you know more as it happens.

I already noticed that space pilots are much nicer persons than, lets say for example terrorists and counter-terrorists from another well known game.
