Ya know, I've been wondering the same thing. I hope it lives up to the E3 trailer. I think it will.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

Wow...just watching that again just reminds me of how much they actually improved the game. The engine and weapon effects are largely improved and also I think the space stations now are more detailed. The guy and girl you see a lot in that trailer is most likely the old versions of Trent and Juni. They look a lot more characteristic now.

Since playing Freelancer and just now watching back on this...I can say that I do get the same sort of "cooooooooool" feeling from it. But even moreso cuz i know FL is a much better game now. Freelancer certainly does live up and exceed the type of feeling the E3 trailer gave.

*trembling of excitement*

Yep, Freelancer has grown more mature over the years and had some incredible upgrades on several areas like graphics and such and at the moment even seems to be a true candidate for "Game-of-the-year 2003" !!

I'm even more excited now than I have ever been

I still watch those trailers on a regular basis to help pass the time while waiting for the UK release. The E3 trailer and the "inside/outside" trailers. Hang on...yup...watched em all again and they rok. Cant...wait...till...April....

Hmm Im just reading the specs for FL. 1.2gb needed for space? I taught that would be impossible on a regualr CD. Is it not on a DVD-ROM. I mean think about it all the upgrades etc must have taken up more than a cd.

Wow. Even SL had 2 cds. I'm worried. Is there no movies to progress the storyline? DA makes one of the best FMV cutscenes out there, along with Squaresoft and Blizzard.

If the game engine is used to render cut scenes, you don't need any space at all, just a small file that tells the game what objects are doing what, bit like a save game.

Compression of textures, swap file space requirements etc mean you can require 1.2 gb free hard disk space, but only have 700mb of compressed data to start with.

Ugh. I hate engine-based cutscenes. They're nowhere near that theatrical feelings I got from StarCraft and Starlancer. Can they at least put FMV cutscenes in the intro and ending?

I've a feeling freelancers engine based scenes are going to be pretty good compared to most engine based ones....

The intro still is FMV isn't it ?

Rendered cut scenes using the game engine isn't all that bad IMO. Games like Mafia and GTA III have some very cool cutscenes, but I do agree with FF that nothing is more cool than FMV cutscenes like they used in Starlancer

Intro is still FMV. In game cinematics are great, and give a good feeling, though IMHO I think they could have gotten more out of the engine...

Oh well,I'll probably get flamed for this but who cares.

I don't get the same feeling as I did when I watched the video since we didn't have much detailed information to base on what that version was like.Although,I think the older version was much cooler though, don't know why but I think it might have to do with some of the things they might have taken out like the re-entry cutscenes & wing modifications.Albeit that,I would never trade it for the game coming out late or for that matter not coming out at all since the enjoyment factor that when I first saw it is still there.
