Got my Sneak Preview Demo Today

Well my fellow TLR's. I finally got the demo. I loaded it and began to play.
Now most know that I am a hardcore joystick fan, currently with the
Thrustmaster Cougar sticks, I love these sticks. Within 15 minutes of playing
Freelancer I forgot about the joystick issue. I was very VERY, skeptical about
this mouse keyboard control scheme, but all I can say is, is that it really does
work very well. I can see why now that Tachyon and some of the others defended the control scheme so much. Boscoe my twin bro you were right. I LOVE this game. By the way my version has cockpit struts in it. I'm flying a Liberty Defender right now and the struts are very well done. I have only been playing right now for about 4 hours but all I can say is WOW....

. For those of you who were wondering what landing on Planets and Bases where like, well every landing is different, when you get a different ship the landing is also different, it was for me anyway when I landed on Manhattan with my new shiny Defender.

I am still learning some of the keyboard controls and can't wait to try them out.
I have stopped playing for now so I could post about the Demo. Got one hell of a headache just took some aspirin but I'm going back for more Freelancing later tonight. For all those waiting for this game you will not be disappointed. The graphics are stunning and the game play is fun. Bargib thanks for having the Contest and thanks to DA and Microsoft. This is one happy camper.

GREAT! So they DID send out some copies. I emailed Microsoft today and they say mine should arrive within 2 days, so if there are any servers up running this version of Freelancer then I will see you then Silencer1.

Just curious, did it arrive in just a CD case or was it more like a complete package with a manual and fully printed packaging?

Should only be the cd. No manual or anything.

The preview version is more up to date than the PR build, so you guys are lucky cuz i honestly thought they would just send you guys the PR build.

Anyways, lots of other people are supposed to finally recieve thier games too tomorrow. Perhaps we should all gather in for a multiplayer game.

We're holding one later today.

It arrived in just a CD paper sleeve. Guess the real good stuff as far as jewel case and printed manual will be in the retail release version. By the way I also
had to e-mail Microsoft about the Demo. They FedEx'd it the next day. Thanks to
Bradley of Microsoft. When you get the demo share your thoughts, I promise you will not be disappointed. We are in for some fun times fellow TLR's. Hey my headache is gone, you KNOW what that MEANS, back to FREELANCER!!!

Congrads and have fun with the demo. I am glad to hear you really like it . Great positive feedback is what I like to hear about Freelancer. I wish I had been one of the winners.....ummm...then again......how much would it spoil the full version for me? I hate spoilers!

There was a contest open to all. All you had to do was enter your name and they ramdomly drew out a set of names, 15 from TLR and 15 from the Microsoft official site.

There was a news item up that mentioned it on TLR.

Shame you missed it. Might have changed the results. Actually no, that would mean that I might not have got my copy. GRRR, stay away you
