Sadly I don't think so. No paint jobs, no customizable paintjobs... It halves the fun. I hope there'll be a patch.

I dont know the logisitics of adding that stuff (custmizing). But I am sure it would not take much to be able to add logos/emblems/paint jobs

I think it would be cool if you could put marks on your ship showing your kills.

the problem with doing that is that, if you change the texture on your ship, other players in MP will not be able to see the new texture you created because they wont have the texture on their hard drive. to make this work, every time a player looked at your ship, they would need to download the texture file from your computer, possibly even via the host computer. it would freeze their game for as long as it takes to complete the download and would play havoc with the ping of everybody concerned

What if they were "pre-formatted" or "canned" from DA? Of course, how big is FL in terms of #CDs? With the amount of details there must be a lot of content.

What if the max picture size is 25 kb? It's 5 times bigger than Half Life's spray paint.

Only 1 CD !?! Wow, all that information on just a single disc

Must be a high density disc then right ?

I honestly thought that FL would come with 2 discs (1 install disc and 1 play disc).

yup 1 disk and the install was around 1 gig or about 300 meg for a server only install

Dang, I think they could let you name your ship without too much trouble. I wish they let you name your ship at least. I know the main player Trent has a name but can you give him a nick name? Can you play as the woman to or only Trent?

It is all about Trent , the story is all about him... so I doubt you can play as someone else :/

Well what about single player?

You wouldnt have to worry about downloading stuff for everyone, if you do it on SP only

I'm no programmer but it's possible that you could change yuor ships texture and if other people in an MP game don't have that one it would default to the standard texture.

Also then in MP can your at least pick a preformated colour scheme for your ship?
I think it may get confusing if several people are flying the same ship in the same colours.
