Does Freelancer really run smoothly on a PIII with 600 MHz and how about it in multiplayer ?

this should answer your question : Click Me!

I have not played it so I cant tell you, but in multiplay, the speed of your Internet is as important as your computer's power.

Even the fastest computers can be slow and laggy online if your net speed is low.

I've read the FAQ but since Diablo 2 and other games i don't thrust them ! Anyone here who played the Freelancer Beta or PR Beta with a PIII 600 MHz in Singel and Multiplayer ? Is it fun ? Does it run smoothly ?

From what I heard the PR Beta ran smooth on a P3 450, 128 RAM, TNT 32 MB and even lesser systems.
Off course not at high details but it worked.

There will be a demo, so you can try that first if you have doubts.

I am in the same boat. Been waiting for this game since ages, although since those ages, my computer didn't get any younger.

I have this:

Intel PIII 600Mhz
512 Megs ram
Ati Radeon 64 DDR TIVO
SbLive 5.1
Win XP

I know that I am beyong the recommanded settings except the processor. I want to know if the game will run smoothly or not. I am not hoping to have full details, if I can get at least something decent to look at, I'll be happy personally.

Unless you turn on FSAA you should be good to go. You might even get away with some anisotropic filtering if your card supports it.

Guibs you can run at 1280x1024 with max detail with that amount of ram and vid memory with no probs

Gee MAd dog, don't put my hopes too high... that could be a killer for me.

So, are you saying that FL isn't as Processor dependant as some other games? Will the 3d card and ram make up for my border line processor? Gee I am in even now !
