Yeah - I know how excited people are, and want it quickly. I've actually talked to quite a few MS Games people here in Europe because of this, and raised the concern.
But distribution is slower in Europe than in the US. Some stores might actually have the game a few days earlier than April 18th, and Microsoft is not one, like EA, who says to the stores they can't sell the game before a certain date.

I´ve preordered Freelancer from Joysoft in Germany (www.joysoft.de). They will get the US-version around March the 10th.

Yeah. I had to do that for a month for Morrowind which I'd waited for since
Daggerfall came out practically. You get all excited then have to stop yourself reading your favourite forums and chat channels. You do get all the grovey reviews though and some 'real' system specs, so you can better judge how it's going to run on your system.
