When it comes down to it...
If I can't run FL on my current settings..
I'll have to bye a flagship of comp.. No question 'bout it...

EB, you have a 600 MHz computer?

I dunno if I can run NWN... Never tried with the new video card, it should, I guess. Does it says anything if I can run Battlefield 1942, 800x600 highest settings?

I have a P4 1.7 GHz
Radeon 9700 pro
And unfortunaltely 512 megs SDram
Also an onboard sound card wich is a realll strain.

IS this adequate to play freelancer at 1024*768 with all settings maxed out.

Yes... and Yes to both.... of you two

Those systems should be fine... but, always remember, every single comp configuration is unique, right down to every piece of software and setting you have. Even the same hardware but with two separate installs of Windows can behave differently.

I had one Win98 1st E system which ran virtually without crashing for 7 months... then I felt like doing my every few month rebuild... and whattdya know... all hell broke loose.

I didn't have another stable machine for 2 years until I got Win XP Pro

Electric Brain, and you could run NWN fine? When I had Matrox G450 the game ran at a framerate of 5 fps or so. Never tried to run the game after I got a Geforce 2 GTS as I sold the game. Neverwintermind...

Its the SDram and onboard sound that worry me.

Post Wed Feb 05, 2003 7:35 pm

Heh..I will disable all the extras (sound and stuff) If I can get this thing to run

The guy who previewed freelancer says it ran fine at 1024*768 with 4 FSAA enabled and Anistroptic filtering enabled. And these: <http://www.avault.com/aboutus/bio.asp?name=richard> are his specs. Pretty meager if I do say so myself

Maybe so, but if you read his article you will see he had slow downs when alot of ships were fighting it out. Mostly on the scripted missions.
And he isn't that far off the recomended specs...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tan Hauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

I agree with you no multiplayer until you get a bettr modem. And to the person who posted above you I would think with you specs the Geforce 2 would fair pretty nicely.
