Refresher for old and new alike!

We've had quite a bit of influx of new people posting on this website lately. That is simply awesome!! But it seems like a perfect time for a little refresher for people who have been posting forever, and new posters alike. I'm doing this in the hopes there are no misunderstandings. This website is run by people who are more than just a little passionate about the Lancers series. All we ask is a little cooperation from everyone to let us do our jobs.

First of all, please read this FAQ section on forum usage

Secondly, if you don't have the time to click the link above, this part is probably the most important for posting on this web site:

Censoring Posts

The bulletin board administrators have the power to censor certain words that may be posted. This censoring is not an exact science, however, so certain words may be censored out of context. Please realize that the censoring, if any censoring is being performed, is being done by a computer based on the words that are being screened. Words that are censored are replaced with asterisks.

Also we do reserve the right to delete or edit any post. After all - this is our website! Though it usally boils down to this: You may post anything relevant in a given forum. Off Topic posts/threads will either be moved to the "Off Topic Forum" or closed for further discussions. Certain topics are not allowed, for example do we have a policy that we will not allow topics on politics, religion or race. Further more any postings who are "bashing" in nature, might it be "I hate Microsoft", "I hate (some country here)" and the like will be instantly deleted. Also postings wich in nature are against the topic of this site, eg. Freelancer or Starlancer, run the potential risk of getting deleted unless they are not "bashing" in nature and well argumented. If you feel you where unrightfull censored, mail Bargib, and he might look into it!

Discussion on piracy/cracks will either be closed or deleted without warning. Also pure advertising of other websites in the forums will be removed!

If a user keeps offending these quite logical rules, we will issue a warning. And if that warning is not followed instantly, the user will be banned from The Lancers Reactor. Sorry!

These rules are simple, but firm. Be that as it may, this is a family oriented web site and the extended use of harsh language will not be tolerated much at all. If you feel you can not post a reply without using harsh words, then simply don't do it. Chances are it will either be filtered out or one of the MODS might even delete the entire post.

There's going to be a lot of traffic in the coming months and to be honest, neither Gibby himself or the MODS really want to spend time policing the forums. We'd much rather be spending our time bringing you all the best most informative, complete information humanly possible on Freelancer. We're simply dying to bring you as much information as possible.

When Freelancer goes gold, it's just going to be madness around here and it would benefit EVERYONE if we the MODS and Gibby can be allowed to concentrate on what really matters...information on Freelancer, not what so and so said on this or that forum.

Play nice, keep it clean and everyone will reap the rewards!!!

Well, speaking as a regular and as an appreciative member of TLR, I've made a concerted effort over my span of membership to keep myself well behaved and not inspire "dubious" behavior from myself or from others. Of course I don't expect everyone to behave like me but I know that the regulars among us will be examples that hopefully others will follow. I said it another thread but I'll say it here, I appreciate the job Bargib and the mods do, they keep the board clean (in more than just one way). I figure it's probably a pretty much thankless job, but I'll say my thanks to them right now. Keep up the good work!

We do get some rewards, on many levels (some you can't put a pricetag on). We don't get paid of course, but that has never been an issue with me personally. My biggest reward is to see this website evolve into what it is today. Believe me, the times of drought over the years has been painful, but worth it now.
