Levelling probs...

All right everyone. I have over a Mil in net worth, but I'm still level 18. I've successfully completed the main part of the game (destroying the Nomads, saving the galaxy, etc.). I'm on Version 1.000..., so is this some weird glitch, or did I miss something? Thanks!

Did you download and install the Freelancer 1.1 patch from Microsoft by any chance? It's been identified as creating level issues in single player, as it was mainly designed to combat multiplayer cheating instead (ie, it's pretty much useless for SP).

I'd also advise that clicking on your icon that shows your net value etc shows what you need for the next level, so the amount left to level up etc...

If you haven't installed the patch, and it says mission - try taking a random mission from a bar and see what happens then...

It's a glitch (sort of), the autosave can have corrupt data from a bad save and this interferes with the leveling settings. Your next level requirements are being reached and recognized but the corrupt data means that the trigger to increase you rank is missed, and once you miss one you miss the rest. The only remedy is to delete the autosave and use the last solid save point to try it all again.

**shuffles of with a new headache**

Well... I've done a mission in almost every place I can (and I've not levelled up from 'em), I always save my game whenever I land, and I really don't want to have to load from an autosave...
No, I haven't downloaded a single patch yet... I'll make a new game (maybe) and see if it happens again... Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Ok, I've finally beaten the game again. Now, my net worth is $100,000- some odd, but the next level requires $77,000... What in the world? Should I try depriciating my net worth somehow?

Net worth, and amount required for next mission, are 2 totally differnt things. The amount needed, is what you still have to earn to get the next level.

Ummmm... I know... During the normal story, say your net worth is 1000, and your next level requires 5000. That's normal. For me, my net, like I said, 100K, and the next level requires a total of 77K, which is almost 30K less than what I have... Look, if someone can tell me how, I'll take a screenshot and show ya.

No.
In your example, the next level asks for 177'000 cr. If you have 100'000 you need 77'000 more. If you have 25'000 only in your net you would read *calculates* 152'000 cr .
The "Next-Level-Requirements" is the difference between your actual account and the amount you have to make by trading and/or doing missions and/or pirating

Hmmm... I feel like I'm not saying this right. Now, I've done a few missions, and my "Current Worth" is 110,000-ish and my "Next Level Requirement" is 67,000... which has gone down since I did the missions... So, again, I would like to ask how to take a screenshot, if anyone knows, and a way to depreciate my "Current Worth" to match the "Next Level Requirement".
No, no, no never mind, I just read then end of the last post! Let's see if it works, but in the story mode, for me, then next level was how much my worth had to be. Thanks now! Sorry for being a dense noob!!

As to a screen shot, in game hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Leave the game and open Paint, click Edit, then paste and you have your screen shot.

Problem is you're being paid in Scottish pounds -- and no one else will accept them.
