In the basic responce, No there isn't.

However, hope is always held out. Do a search of this forum, for several threads on the subject.

On the positive side, Freelancer uses animated characters -- not live actors. Thus even if it happens 10 or 20 years from now, they can use the same voice actors and the heroes can look exactly the same!

Depends on your point of view, no there will not ever be a official FL2, but there is OL
Which may be FL2 or a flop(unlikely) or the best space sim ever.
