Joining Factions other than NAvy

Is it possible in Multiplayer (Unmoded) to join any other factions beside the Navy? If so how?

Well, you can't really JOIN another faction, but you can either kill a faction's enemies or bribe them to become friendly with that faction.

Uh, yea in MP in unmodded you can join other faction other then navy. If you want to become part of the pirate faction......just kill navy(Liberty, Bertiona, Rheinland, etc)...No it's not hard to do, just aim at cops and kill them. To other people who say otherwise......what game are you playing?

Not a lazy cow the GHG mod wont let me run a private server for some odd reason so I'd rather find a mod which will let me run a private server.
