What does this icon (to the left of manubar) mean?

This screenshot is from an unmodded multiplayer session. I was hunting the alien NPCs. The icon in question is the red icon to the left of the manubar. This same icon has also appeared in single player campaign. I was hunting the aliens too.

Its a missile/torp/cruise disruptor icon... it flashes, and in the background you should hear a "tracking" noise which gets faster in beat the closer the missile is to you (so you can hear its proximity via the sound speeding up effectively).

Nomads don't use missiles. And the missile icon is supposed to be to the right of the manubar.

That is the infamous "Trial Alert" icon that some people seem to randomly encounter. We hypothesize that it is a trailing feature never fully implemented into FL.

Could this icon mean "Enemy on your tail" ? It looks like two ships connected with an arrow.

Trail Alert = Enemy following you, plain and simple.

This is the trail alert. It has been debated for ages, and (I think) only shows in MP.

it dose mean u have a ship on your tail but is apprars in sp and mp not only one
