whats this? a unknown object?

Salute,

2 of my clanmates, Lord'Proguy and Lord'IGNGN told me some days ago that they have seen a Unknown Object close to the Blue Dwarf in Tau-37.

Its exactly close to the sun, so nobody could seek it.

I went to the Lord Boot Camp Server and edited my character with a invincible hull.

when i was close to the sun (1k) i noticed that there is also a invisible wall and u cant fly closer.
But with the little F1 trick, like u do at bases or stations to fly in the structure, u can fly through this wall exactly into the sun, and close outside of the sun....was THIS Object:

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/L ... bject2.jpg
It looks like a small ball with sharpen edges or a small pyramide. A little bit like a mine...but there are also blue and green lights at all sites with are rotating. The Object itself is not moving.

i watched Tau-37 in a system editor, close to the suns is a object called "Planet_Core"...maybe MS has made a edit mistake there or it isnt that object...i could not shoot at this thing, cos all my hardpoints are broken after some few seconds cos of the sun.

What is it?

Interesting. To my knowledge, this is the best info on the mysterious object retrieved to date. I Always thought it looked like a crate of loot. There was another thread on this created not to long ago, and the general consensus was that this object is there to mount rings on, since the game engine doesn't allow for suns to have rings. (Which the Tau-37 sun does appear to have).

Speaking of Tau-37, it always struck me as odd that there's a third sun, hovering above the rest of the system.

Its a cloak!

@ Mike, tsk,tsk a "cloak"

It's a Gravity Buoy and here's the code for it:-

[Object
nickname=Ew01_planet_core
pos=-35, 0, -97
archetype=gravity_buoy
spin=0, 0, 0
atmosphere_range=300
burn_color=255, 222, 160
ring=Zone_Ew01_sun_ring, solar\rings\protoplanet.ini

If you have the SDK 1.5 installed you won't find it as it's been removed from the files.

What's this? A moderator not editing his own post about cloaking?

What, pray tell is a gravity bouy, and what does it do besides be unknown?

try the invincibility trick; i.e. setting the difficulty to 0 and tell me about this f1 trick, i must know!

"And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

@ J Dawg, I haven't a clue as I've had a quick look and haven't found any more, so I guess its another of DA's bright ideas that got scrapped.

Actually its there to form the rings.

Suns can't have rings, remember?
